Most unique and most beautiful aren't the same thing though - the most unique name can be unbeautiful by common standards. My grandmother's middle name was Eglantine - fairly unique in the world now, but beautiful to most people? Probably not! So which one do you want?

BrownSharpie · 02/03/2026 02:49

I love the name Adeline. Also Aurora. Clearly I have a thing for names beginning with A.

How’s that pronounced? I assume I’m wrong in pronouncing it like Egg-Lantern

Egg-luhn-tine - to rhyme with 'seen' at the end. Means 'sweet briar' if memory serves. A bit like Augustine.

Illaria, It's an Italian name and the way they say it sounds like music to me

Fasdmama · 02/03/2026 03:43

Dove for a girl. I just think it sounds so elegant and beautiful

Slight difference - I like Adelaide.

Also Evangeline and Emmeline.

Oh, that reminds me, I love the name Istria for a girl. Yes, I know it's a region in Croatia, but I think it makes a beautiful girl's name.

maras2 · 02/03/2026 04:50

I loved the boy's name Carmine, still do, but DH said it was a bit Mafiosi for our West Midlands kid.
Meadow's a pretty rather than beautiful girls name, although that was Tony Soprano's kid's name. Smile

Peachplumpear38 · 02/03/2026 04:54

My friend is called Rosie and I only found out at her wedding that it is short for Rosemary, which I think is a lovely name!

LoudPlumDog · 02/03/2026 05:11

Ella

dailyconniptions · 02/03/2026 05:18

No such thing as most unique or fairly unique. Unique means there's only one!

For a girl I think Cassia is beautiful. Can't think of any beautiful boys' names but I do like Asher.

LocalHobo · 02/03/2026 05:23

I'm not sure why, but I find Malachi a beautiful boys name. I have never met one although I know two Malik's.

MissBattleaxe · 02/03/2026 05:25

Aster for a girl, or Wren.

scoobydeedoo · 02/03/2026 05:30

I recently heard the name Danira, pronounced like Dah-nee-ra. I think that is a beautiful name

Relaxd · 02/03/2026 05:30

Saira is pretty although I wouldn’t choose it. I also think the following are beautiful names - Francesca, Seren, Luca, Delphine

FourForksSake · 02/03/2026 05:59

Genevieve
Peregrine

Waltzers · 02/03/2026 06:02

Around 1993, I worked for a Greek/english family who had a little girl called Athanasia (they pronounced it Athan-a-see-a though google tells me there’s other ways!) and I thought it was the most beautiful name I’d ever heard.

OrsolaRosso · 02/03/2026 06:04

I really like Aurelia.

I think it's quite subjective though. Some of the names mentioned above are definitely not beautiful to my ears!

Footle · 02/03/2026 06:18

Ilaria is Hilary in Italian
