Allegra

I think the most beautiful girls name ever is Celeste.

Goinggonegone · 02/03/2026 16:30

Eiriol.
Common in Wales though so not unique.

Eglantine makes me think of Shakespeare. Some kind of flower? Mentioned in A Midsummer Night's Dream, I think. I think it's a beautiful name - and definitely unusual.

"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows
Where oxslips, and the nodding violet grows
Quite o'ercanopied with luscious woodbine
With sweet musk roses, and with eglantine."

Also Matilda - seems like I love M names

Larose123 · 02/03/2026 16:36

Another vote for Cassia, I also live Charlotte and Scarlett. Eden for a boy.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 02/03/2026 16:37

Adelaide.

Aiofe.
I love the sound of the name and the feel of the sound in my mouth, if you see what I mean.

It's not spelt like that though. It's Aoife.

Blueblell · 02/03/2026 16:38

I always loved the name Emil for a boy but sadly did not get to use it

Walkinglikegroucho · 02/03/2026 16:39

Rafferty for a boy.

I think lots of girls names are beautiful. Not unusual but Sophia, Isabella and Eloise are beautiful as are lots of the celtic names

thesugarbumfairy · 02/03/2026 16:40

I heard the name Miriama once and I love it. But not Miriam. The first for me is ethereal but the second quite earthy and blunt. Which seems bizarre when the only difference is an 'a' on the end!

I love that name so much I wanted to name my daughter it. But it ended up being my husband’s ex so I decided not to haha

That is my DC2s name and it suits her SO much - it’s perfect for her. She is my Nai Nai.

I am so sorry about ex putting you off.
I understand fully - there will never be an Essie in my house for the same reasons. 🫠. Still, how annoying!

I hope you found something beautiful
in the end.

Shmoigel · 02/03/2026 16:40

Aquilla

Chiaseedling · 02/03/2026 16:41

My DD’s name is on this thread.
It was uncommon when she was born in early 2000s but it’s gained popularity now.

Persephone, its just a beautiful name.

I met a Boudicca once, and she was as bad ass as you'd imagine.

Agree with Persephone, once I realised the last bit wasn't pronounced 'phone' like mobile phone.

Hermione is also a beautiful name.

I loved Siena about 15 years ago when it wasn't really around as a baby name.

Boys wise I love Austin, Asher, Theo (but not Theodore)

I am guessing it begins with A and more and more people learnt to pronounce it!

Chiaseedling · 02/03/2026 16:44

Now I like the name Lainey - I don’t even know why, but it appeals to me!
Also like Thea (was a contender for DD).
I’ve loved the name Ella since I was a child and if we had another girl she would’ve been called that, but we had a boy.

No, S! I should’ve changed my user name but I’m in phone and can only do it on the PC.

Slight difference - I like Adelaide.

Also Evangeline and Emmeline.

I knew an Adelaide, she was a wonderful woman. Her daughter in law died young and she stepped in to help her son bring up his children. I think I like the name so much because I associate it with such a selfless, loving lady.

mazedasamarchhare · 02/03/2026 16:48

Always thought Leonora (means shining one) was a beautiful name, also Helena and Sapphire.
boys: not so much beautiful but I love the names Humphrey, Hogarth, Malick and Ezra.

Ha ha, thank you. It's been a long day and I cant spell 😂
