ania/anya—and works in so many languages/cultures

Surely it’s the whole name as very very few names are unique but first+surname can be.
No point in being an Adeline Scragg or Aurora Smellie.
I work with a woman with the most beautiful name but can’t out myself. It’s something like Marianna Marina or Lolita Lallarita - alliterative and pretty.

I knew a lady who had a cousin called Irini

Sometimes it’s not the sound but the look of a name.
I know Isola means island in Italian but I think it looks beautiful.
I also like the look of Kerala, a place name.
Eloise is a lovely sounding name.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 02/03/2026 14:58

I know someone called Barley which I always thought was a wonderful name. I like illiana too, and Genevieve. I used to adore Paloma but it’s become more popular so I’ve started to go off of it. valentina is lovely, but I don’t like the ‘tina’ short version

When I was very young I called my dolls Helen and Heather.

Best friend in primary school loved her name, Rebecca. She was named after the book - we weren't aware of the character's personality back then!
