Which unusual or old fashioned boy names would you use if you were given free rein and no negative judgement was allowed? (I’ll make another thread for girls names)

I love Tycho and Darwin.

Sorry that a girls name...day dreaming here

PastaAllaNorma · 07/11/2025 22:05

Malachai

I've always liked it but there's no way we could have used it. I like how it looks written down and how it feels in my mouth to say it.
(I love 'agapanthus' for the same reason)

Roderigo - loved the name since studying Othello at school

Bjorn. - love Scandi names,

Some great names on this list.

Forrest

I think it's such a bloody lovely name.

I was bold enough to do my second, Caspar, but other half was a solid no.

I loved the name Eddie but not Edward. I suggested Edison instead but that was also a no.

I know boys with all of these names - I wouldn’t say they were bold!

Mine would be Indigo (Indy)

Ds's name has been mentioned 😂.

For me:
Ptolemy
Sholto

I love Ptolemy but I'd have felt like such a prat.

Rafferty always tickled me, and Orlando, but would never actually choose it.

Oberon
Etienne
Everett

agentlebreeze · 07/11/2025 22:33

Rudyard Kipling’d parents were bold; it’s a very distinguished name imo.
