Mia Wren?

Gosh I am struggling for a middle name!!

What do you think? Any one syllable middle name options to go with Mia would be appreciated please!

I loooove Mia Rose, even though it’s a safe option but can’t use it for various reasons.

I’d like to keep one syllable if possible as we have a mouthful of a surname so flows better and is in keeping with my other two children (but not totally opposed to longer middle names if they go)

others we considered

Mia Beau
Beau was actually our top choice first name if we were to have a boy

Mia Belle
I love this but my husband thinks it just sounds like ‘me a bell’ 🤣

Mia Elle
Just a thought as an alternative to above but not loving it

Mia Lise

Mia Lucy - two syllables but still works with Banana-Hammock-Johnston-Smith.

Mia Wren. Love it.

gotellsomeone · 16/07/2025 07:27

Mia wren is lovely

MaJoady · 16/07/2025 07:30

Sorry, but if Me-a-bell is a concern, then I'd be thinking me-a-wren is too (ie the bird)

I'm not sure the style of names goes for me either. Wren sounds a bit too "earthy/naturey" to go with Mia imo

FleurDeFleur · 16/07/2025 07:32

Not Wren!
Lucy is nice.

I miss the laugh emoji!

I think Mia Wren is lovely, OP.
Mia Elle sounds a bit clumsy, to me, two vowels on top of one another; doesn't flow like Mia Wren.

manicpixieschemegirl · 16/07/2025 08:07

I don’t think Wren quite works.

Mia Clare is gorgeous @FleurDeFleur.

Is Wren a name? It just makes me think of bluetit! If you want one syllable why not choose something more traditional like Lyn or Ann or Claire?

It is indeed my nephew is called Wren and it suits him . He has left school now and loves his name as it’s unusual he’s never met anyone with his name it’s cool. 😁

Do you really not have a single significant name in your extended families that you could use? Everything suggested seems (in the context of not being specific to you) arbitrary and a bit generic. (Obviously those names will be individual to their owners.)

Mia shouldn’t have any name that could plausibly be a properly noun after it. Otherwise it sounds as if the owner of the name is declaring herself to be whatever the thing is, in pidgin English.

’Me a wren.’
’Is that right? Me a vulture.’

ArmySurplusHamster · 16/07/2025 09:08

God, no. Wren is awful (and have you noticed what noisy aggressive little bleeders they are? Careful what you wish for).

GhastlyGoodTaste · 16/07/2025 09:15

Joan would be cool.

Mia Joan St Fiddlesticks von Biederock Crane …

GhastlyGoodTaste · 16/07/2025 09:17

I think the problem is that Mia is now a bit of a nothing name … Too ubiquitous. It would be easier if you started with something else.

twobabiesandapup · 16/07/2025 09:21

I really like Mia Wren, I really wanted Wren as a middle name for our little girl but my partner wasn’t keen so we settled on Jade as a middle name! What about that? Or Rae?
