We’re looking for actually unique girls names for dd2 please (first dd has very unique name so need something to match!). Keep googling lists and they come up with names like “Tracey”, “Chloe” which are lovely names but I wouldn’t say unique! Please help.

Well make one up from sounds you like, given you keep stressing UNIQUE!!

How about Seraviolanigh? Armaleevien? Dilaboe? Uhlaboe?

TeenLifeMum · 01/04/2025 21:51

I went to school with a girl caller Mercia and also have a relative whose name is a combination of 2; Clarissa and Corey - Corissa. It sounds like it should be a name but is unique… until someone else uses it so probably not as unique as I think.

Highandloww · 01/04/2025 21:52

Always thought Sigourney was a unique name, although that actress's real name is Susan Alexandra

Darerca - supposedly St Patrick’s sister.
she is the patron saint of an island in south west Ireland called Valentia Island.
A truly beautiful part of Ireland.

I knew a Darrreacha…she had a sister Gobnait.

one also known lots of Dymphnas, Isolde’s, Iseult’s & Carmel’s. Guess where I live

Linnet is the ghost girl from Children of Green Knowe who died of the plague
Arrietty is a Borrower although it may have been Arriety or Arietty, I’m not sure
Jessamine was the little girl who lived in the big house in Milly Molly Mandy

CampanulaMila · 01/04/2025 22:49

I went to primary school with a Nousha, never met another one since, always thought it’s a very pretty name. I also like Sorrel that a PP suggested.

I asked AI to make up some names for me, it came up with:
kalyandra
Thessaly
Solenne
Nymeria
Thalina
Liora
Zathenyia
Chariah

do any of those float your boat? I asked for made up names so they should be unique but they’re not all I don’t think.

xmasdealhunter · 01/04/2025 23:38

Leora, Zinnia, Soleil, Zenaya

KnickerFolder · 02/04/2025 00:13

Ha! Liora is a real name, @Zippityjumpingbean . I guess even AI has run out of Youneek names.

You could throw a dart at a board in a maths department to create a unique nqme? It worked for Elon Musk...

Overtheatlantic · 01/04/2025 19:43

Just call her Mary and be done with it.

A lot more unusual these days than a lot of the other names suggested on here! Sounds lovely and easy to spell too. Traditionally “shortened” to Polly.

BlueFlowers5 · 02/04/2025 04:54

Alicia
Gertrude
Doris
Marlene
Aurelia
Saffron
Minerva
Calliope
Athena
Carys

Tbrh · 02/04/2025 05:15

I'd have a look at some other countries names and see what you like the sound and meaning of. That's probably the only way to get something different unless you make something up or use something that's not traditionally used for a name

Mudkipper · 02/04/2025 05:35

Aude
Laetitia
Annis
Yann
Hortensia
Nerissa
Petronel
Rhodanthe

All actual names, but rare.

CurlewKate · 02/04/2025 05:39

When I was pregnant with dd we had a family game of making up unique names. My mother won, with a name she felt reflected her Australian heritage- Margarine.

🤣 I don’t think AI is that good at actually making things up!!

my childhood friend was called Ptinia after her parents played scrabble and thought this collection of letters made a good name, so perhaps OP could get the scrabble set out?

user1492757084 · 03/04/2025 01:45

Just call her Mary and be done with it.

Such a classy, elegant name.
