Middle names for boden?

Thoughts on the name Boden (nick names Bode or Bodie)

And middle names (we like more classical middle names) or ideally a fire and earth name

2 middle names needed!

As in the clothing company? It's very MN appropriate. Balonz?

It makes me think of the clothing company. I'd probably go for Bodhi instead.

Boden/Bodhi Murphy
Boden/Bodhi Calum
Boden/Bodhi Tate
Boden/Bodhi James
Boden/Bodhi Matthew

KetteringQueen · 15/02/2025 17:39

Are you seriously naming a child Boden? Even if this is an actual name somewhere in the world, if you're based in the UK everyone will think of the shop.

Marylou2 · 15/02/2025 17:40

Mini? Presuming you don't live in a middle class British town? On the upside, if you did, you could save on name tapes.

Hi! Yes I'm aware of the shop name. Thanks for your input :) I find that quite rude.

Boden Esme

Toulousetoolose · 15/02/2025 17:41

It’s like calling your child Warren Evans. A name but ridiculous considering the shop

Overthebow · 15/02/2025 17:41

If you’re in the UK you can’t call your kid Boden. It’s a clothes shop.

Waterboatlass · 15/02/2025 17:42

Two middle names you say? John Lewis fits the bill nicely.

But Zara?

Rose or Lily would go. I've taught a couple of Boden's over the years and a Bodhi. I remember one had Rose as a middle name but I can't remember the others. I just remember thinking that went nicely.

FriendsDrinkBook · 15/02/2025 17:44

Please don't name your child Boden.

But Zara?

Zara is an actual name and a popular one before the shop came along.

Boden is shop named after the founder’s surname. It has no history as a given name

I thought of it as more of a boys name. For girls, Tate and Murphy would still work. So would Claire and Esme and Daphne.

buybuysellsell · 15/02/2025 17:47

Dreadful! Don't do it! Your child will have the piss taken out of them forever.

proporop · 15/02/2025 17:48

it means floor in german.

JudgeBread · 15/02/2025 17:48

I've only ever seen it as a given name spelled Beauden, as in Beauden Barrett, and only in New Zealand where he's popular.

In the UK it's just the shop. You might as well call him/her Debenhams.

SnowyPetals · 15/02/2025 17:48

Boden Breton Stripe would go well together.

Digdongdoo · 15/02/2025 17:49

First thing to enter my head was Joules. You can't name your kid after a poncy clothes shop.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 15/02/2025 17:49

Really not a fan, sorry.
