Expecting twins boys on 23June. My husband is obsessed with matching names. I am more flexible but to be honest I'd rather not.

My favourites are
Sebastian and Dorian
Florian and Tristian

My husband's
Jayden and Jaylen
Nick and Nico

I think complementing names can be cute, but too matchy just isn't my preference. For example names that have the same nick name like Jayden and Jaylen I think are too close as they would both likely answer to Jay

Some combos I think still coordinate in an obvious way but have a little more individuality -

Nick and Noah

Troy and Tristan

Jayden and Julian (think this is a nice mix of your styles as well)

Malcom and Mason (Mack & Mase)

Adrian and Bellamy (Twin A and Twin B)

Max and Wells (both halves of Maxwell)

Cassian and Christopher (Kaz & Kit)

Cole and Clay

Sebastian and Nicholas (start and end with S/N)

Evan and Ezra

Leopold and Conrad (both end in -d)

Sterling and Spencer

Niall and Brooks (water)

Hawthorne and Holden (both literary classic names)

Lance and Lincoln

Nico and Owen (start/end with N/O)

Fitz and Ford

Will and Liam (two parts of William)

Asher and Archer (Ash and Archie)

Kieran and Quentin

Maxim and Marcel

Alec and Xavier (both derivations of Alexander)

Nico and Elio

Dawson and Dimitri

Flint and Brooks (fire & water)

Ted and Nick are lovely names, congratulations!!

The names go together well. Ted & Nick. The longer names are nice too.
So pleased for you, OP.

Gorgeous names! And welcome to the twins club, it's a very lovely place xx

Speaking as a twin, it is horrible when people don't let you develop your own identity.

Give them different names.

Viviennemary · 02/07/2023 10:39

Don't particularly like any of your names very much but matching names are off the scale horrendous. You might as well call them Tweedledum and Tweedledee and be done with it.

If you go to twin groups/societies etc there’s very clear advice not to do matchy names. Also there’s a difference between using the same letter which is slightly matchy to your husband’s suggestions which seem like a joke.

No, not matching

FoodFann · 03/07/2023 22:21

@GoldDuster 😆 actually laughed out loud at that.

Ted (Edward) and Nick (Nicholas) are great names! Congratulations op, glad you and your dp managed to meet in the middle because his suggestions were bad 😅
