My daughter has 4 Sophia’s in her class alone.

Also Rueben seems to be the most common boys name.

There are two Noahs at nursery and we seem to know half a dozen Charlies aged between 5 and 15. Also a Penelope at nursery and another at swimming.
DS told me he made a new friend today a boy called Cassius, which I thought was a nice name.

liveforsummer · 14/10/2022 21:39

All the E names - Emily, Ellie, Ella, Emma, Erin, also as above Ruby. Boys are Ethan, Aiden, Alex apart from that it's very varied. I'm in the infant end of a primary school so have lots of the 'unique' names which became fashionable a few years back with odd spellings and hyphenated with Rae, Mae etc plus it's a diverse area so a variety of names from different cultures so probably not as much repetition than in other areas

mamaduckbone · 14/10/2022 21:39

Oliver and Harry for boys; Sophie and Grace for girls.
Dc are teens though.

SarahAndQuack · 14/10/2022 21:39

This is fascinating! At my DD's school the 'multiples' I know of are:

  • Alice
  • Finnley
  • Sophie/Sophia
  • Florence
  • Isaac

I'm sure there are a few more that I've forgotten. I had to laugh reading the thread though - I know a little girl who is Eva Lily-Mae. Sounds as if she won the jackpot!

RewildingAmbridge · 14/10/2022 21:40

Every second girl at DNs school is called Bella - Isabella, Isabelle, Isobel, or Belle all known as Bella. I went to her sports day in the summer and one call for Bella resulted in half the year turning round

Thenightcircus · 14/10/2022 21:42

@SarahAndQuack Eva Lily-Mae made me laugh out loud!! 🤣 what a handful of a name! Do people call her Elm for short?

Thinkbiglittleone · 14/10/2022 21:42

Between ages 3-6 years we know

2 x Sebastian
2 x Grayson
3 x Mason
3 x Jaxon

I hear Lots of Lilly's, and a few Eva's

Zizou04 · 14/10/2022 21:44

I work in a school.

Most common names in my school are:
Mia
Ava
Sophia
Sophie

Jack
Harry
Harris
Evan
Olly or Oliver

puddingandsun · 14/10/2022 21:45

Interesting thread.

A lot of variations depending on area + different years (some primary some secondary school aged?)

Primary (year 1) here:

Freddie x 4
Albie x 3
Archie x 2
Sophia x 2
Evie x 2
Ava x 2
Something-Rose x a few

(And many mums called Leanne, Laura or Lauren.)

Zizou04 · 14/10/2022 21:45

I forgot Lily! Bloody loads of them! 😂

TheSmallestOneWasMadeline · 14/10/2022 21:45

Crazy how different these names are to the popular ones when I was at school (90s/00s). Not an Evie or an Arlo in sight but most of the boys were either Ben, Chris, Tom, Alex or Josh. I know at least 10 of each. Girls were Sophie, Amy, Becky/Becca, Ellie or Emma.

My Dad is in his late 50s and I swear most of his friends are either Dave or Mike!

QueenWenceslas · 14/10/2022 21:46

Every other child in DD’s year is a Jacob. 10% of the whole year group are Jacobs.

Other duplicated names are
Freya
Kai
Charlie
Archie
Isla
Orla

MsTSwift · 14/10/2022 21:46

When we registered Dd for 6th form as we sat down the teacher said “Evie?”. We said no not her name his response “worth a try every other girl is called that” !

JaggySplinter · 14/10/2022 21:51

Abdulhai/Abdulai is really common in my DC's primary school, there are several in every year.

Medoca · 14/10/2022 21:54

MarieCondom · 14/10/2022 20:59

Mason? What kind of name is that? There surely can't be multiple Masons in any self-respecting school.

😂Not sure the schools get to pick the names of the children, or even pick children based on their names!

Mariposista · 14/10/2022 21:54

FreshCop · 14/10/2022 19:39

There was a short phase of lots of Nova and Luna’s.

I feel like Nova has dated really badly now.

I have only known dogs and cats called Nova and Luna 😂quite pretty names I guess.
