My daughter has 4 Sophia’s in her class alone.

Also Rueben seems to be the most common boys name.

Trinity65 · 14/10/2022 20:45

Oh sorry OP I misread the post

There were 2 Jayden's there though , 2 Oliver's, 3 Mollies/Molly and 2 Lacey's

3 DCs in primary, most popular names are:

Sophia/Sofia/Sofie
Emily
Olivia
Lilly
Amelia
Layla
Violet

Sam/Samual
Zac/Zachary
Brody though I think different spellings

There are more boys than girls in the school but not as many boy name groupings, Zachary & Samuel definitely the most popular, might be because it’s a catholic school, most of the Zacs & Sams come from regular church going families.

Names which 3 or more children have (I work there so have access to all the names!):

Charlie
Marcel
Aidan
Alfie
Alex

Jasmine
Julia
Lena
Mia (and a Maia, Miyah and Miya, all pronounced M-igh-uh, rather than the Mia's who are all pronounced m-ee-uh)
Zuzanna
Amelia
Sienna
Maria
Sofia (all 5 spelt like that - we used to have two Sophias as well)

I only have one set of duplicates in my class this year, but was previous in a class with 2x Anna, 2x David and 2x Olivia. And another year I had a Nicole, a Nicola and a Nicky. Not to mention Nina, Melina and Katerina!

HighlandPony · 14/10/2022 20:58

Olivia Isla Lily Caitlin Anna are all pretty popular in the village for girls and Ruairidh Ollie Calum James Lennon Robert are around 80% of the village boys names. I don’t really know the school kids coz the village kids are bused into town for school so I’ve never met the town kids. A lot of our names are family names.

Incidentally all the Ollies and Olivia’s are related and that’s been the case going back generations in my living memory to old grannie Olive who’s house I live in. Old grannie Olives daughter Olive is in her 80s and lives with her granddaughter Olive who’s own daughter is Olivia iykwim.granddaughter Olive’s dad was Oliver.

christmastreewithhairyfairy · 14/10/2022 20:59

I'm surprised Eva hasn't come up more on this thread. Sometimes feels like the girls at my DCs schools are 50% Evas!

MarieCondom · 14/10/2022 20:59

Notgotanyidea · 14/10/2022 19:34

Imogen
Matilda
Zara
Oliver
Mason
Kane

Mason? What kind of name is that? There surely can't be multiple Masons in any self-respecting school.

Mycatsgoldtooth · 14/10/2022 21:00

Bonnie, Oliver Jonah
