Brother for Nirvana and Jude

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 18:05

We are looking for a brother name to go with older sister Nirvana and older brother Jude.
I am in love with both dc’s names,Nirvana was initially named after the band that me and dp both really love but when we looked into the meaning it just settled it for us, and with Jude we got inspiration from the beetle song

these are some names that we like but can’t use:
Hendrix-we didn’t love the nn options and we weren’t quite feeling it
Fender-we loved the connection to Fender amps and guitars but it didn’t feel like a complete name for us
Bowie- dp top choice right now with possible longer name Boden but we already have a Beau in our family who often gets called Bowie
Blues-family don’t feel like it’s a proper name to use
Indie-my top choice and I’m trying to convince dp
Fox-this is my second choice but don’t like the nickname possibly of foxy

We are quite settled on the middle name options either Michael or Beesley after my late grandfather

I'm not sure if this is a piss take or not. Some of these suggestions. Jesus. This baby is going to grow up and need to change their name

Drew31 · 07/06/2022 19:41

Nirvana is a Buddhist concept, not Hindu!!

Marley is the nicest suggestion I’ve seen. Marley Michael would work.

I don’t like Beesley as a first name but you could do something like Bailey as a nod to it.

Florian is gorgeous and I like Soren, but that’s an outsider’s perspective for you!

nancy75 · 07/06/2022 19:42

Isn’t Beesley the surname of the ginger kid in Harry Potter?

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:43

My Children’s names have never been thought as,as weird like it’s never been mentioned and it’s almost been a decade!
nirvana loves her name and gets called niv and varnie most of the time and has never been picked on because of it
Jude has always been my top pick for a boy and i think it goes lovely with nirvana’s name
I have so many options and I’m not close to choosing any I think our top 5 right now are
1.jaxon beesley
2.Atticus Michael
3.blue Michael
4.Indigo - indie beesley
5.fox beesley

I've personally known a Bowie, a Cobain and a Kiedis after the god from the RHCP.

All hate their names with a passion, Bowie changed hers to summer. They got a lot of flak for it and I always felt bad for them

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:46

@nancy75 that’s weesley hahaha
we didn’t just pick Beesley out of thin air it was my late grandfathers surname and and it’s very sentimental to me and dp

Nawww you can’t call a child Dakota, how about Texas or Tennessee? 😭 you do realise a name is for life

RoseslnTheHospital · 07/06/2022 19:51

In general, nearly all adults will be polite enough not to say anything to you directly about an unusual name. Nearly all adults are kind enough not to mention it to a child. Primary school age children and under are likely to take names as they are without blinking because they will have no reference for what is a usual or unusual name. As children get older they will become aware of the social context of certain names and that some are much more unusual than others. That's when children might become self conscious about their unusual name.

I’m just here for the comments.

OP - @RoseslnTheHospital is right. People are polite IRL. You will absolutely get unfiltered comments on the Baby Name’s forum, however.

Please don't. My god.

My uncles Staffie was called Rocky.

Hallyup89 · 07/06/2022 19:59

You actually hate your kids, don't you? Most of these 'name' suggestions are bloody ridiculous and everyone will silently judge you.

WHY ask is Beesley is ok when you had the perfectly decent alternative suggestion of Michael?! Of course Beesley isn't ok!!!

TabithaTittlemouse · 07/06/2022 19:59

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 07/06/2022 19:39

I'm not sure if this is a piss take or not. Some of these suggestions. Jesus. This baby is going to grow up and need to change their name

Jesus is by far the best suggestion.

User3568975431146 · 07/06/2022 19:59

Please stop suggesting even more ridiculous names just in case op is actually being serious. Nirvana and Jude I'm sure must be (I hope!!) a wind up and as for Beesly, fox, lyric etc, they're just ridiculous.

Oh and axel is a really historically and currently popular name for German Shepherds and I also know quite a few dogs called Hendrix and three called ossie (Osborne)

TonyBlairsLover · 07/06/2022 20:00

@TabithaTittlemouse stppp I’m gonna period piss in my bed 😭😭

ImJustNotMeAnymore · 07/06/2022 20:00

What about Corey ?

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 20:00

I guess it’s just hard to please everyone hahaha
I was never into naming my children Simon or Richard etc. and yes I’m aware they are quite unusual but it dosnt mean they are unusable if they really hated there first names they always have there more traditional middle names to fall back on (Rose and Johnathan)

OP posts:
TonyBlairsLover · 07/06/2022 20:00

In all seriousness, please pick something non ridiculous. Trust me they’ll be dragged through high school with a ridiculous name
