Brother for Nirvana and Jude

We are looking for a brother name to go with older sister Nirvana and older brother Jude.
I am in love with both dc’s names,Nirvana was initially named after the band that me and dp both really love but when we looked into the meaning it just settled it for us, and with Jude we got inspiration from the beetle song

these are some names that we like but can’t use:
Hendrix-we didn’t love the nn options and we weren’t quite feeling it
Fender-we loved the connection to Fender amps and guitars but it didn’t feel like a complete name for us
Bowie- dp top choice right now with possible longer name Boden but we already have a Beau in our family who often gets called Bowie
Blues-family don’t feel like it’s a proper name to use
Indie-my top choice and I’m trying to convince dp
Fox-this is my second choice but don’t like the nickname possibly of foxy

We are quite settled on the middle name options either Michael or Beesley after my late grandfather

Don't choose Fox with a middle name of Michael. All anyone's going to think is Michael J Fox.
And a pp recommended Slash. Do as you like, but its slang for going for a piss..

I get you want a rock n roll/out there name.. what about Lyric? I think a few famous people have used that for their kids.

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:11

@NippyWoowoo no I am not personally but some of dp family are and it was a suggestion they put forward that I fell in love with(you can also use a name just because you like it)

If you like David Bowie, why not... David?

It'd go nicely with Jude.

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:12

@tryingtosettle I really like lyric I might add that to the list, thanks!

@TambourineOfRepentance I am not in love with the name David but I do love Davie!
we have so many daves in our family I don’t think it would be possible though

What’s everyone’s opinions on using beesley as a first name?

I didn’t realise my kids names were that controversial!!😳
Me and dh both love there names and so do our family’s and I have no regrets
Nirvana wasn’t just named after the band!hahaha
she was named due to the concept in Hinduism, Nirvana means "bliss" or being in "a transcendent state free from suffering”
And as for the spelling mistake on the Beatles totally my fault forgot to proof read

Are you Hindu though?

Can you honestly tell me you'd be happy being called Blues? Or Fender?
Fender bender is a car crash, blues is just god awful. Having the blues is being depressed, not to mention blues clues - I could go on.
Hendrix is ok, but not alongside Nirvana.
Boden is a clothing brand and Bowie isn't a nickname that makes any logical sense from Boden.

Please think it through - they have to go through school with those names, and it's actually cruel.

HundredMilesAnHour · 07/06/2022 19:16

I'm still trying to get over Nirvana as a name. Poor kid.

PineapplePrincess1 · 07/06/2022 19:17

I love the name Axel. Hendrix is awful

RoseslnTheHospital · 07/06/2022 19:20

Beesley as a first name just doesn't work at all for me. It's not a very pleasing sound. Would you call them Bee for short?

ladydimitrescu · 07/06/2022 19:20

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:14

What’s everyone’s opinions on using beesley as a first name?

It's a building supplier and a surname. No.

Highlyquestionablehoumous · 07/06/2022 19:21

I would steer clear of a musical name for your third. Nirvana, Jude and something else would be ok.

But otherwise you will always be the family people talk about and say 'I know of 3 siblings called Nirvana, Jude and Hendrix' etc

Plus, please remember these are human beings you are naming, and they will have this name for the rest of their lives (unless they decide to change it like erm, David Bowies son!)

Fwiw, I really like Davy as a name.

Highlyquestionablehoumous · 07/06/2022 19:22

Not Beesley for a first name. Just about ok for a middle name.

mossberry · 07/06/2022 19:23

Lennon
Bodhi
Shiloh

Snoken · 07/06/2022 19:23

Omg, being Swedish I have to say don’t name your kid Sören. It’s the Swedish equivalent of Gary or Alan and the likes, plus nobody British can pronounce ö.

takemetomars · 07/06/2022 19:26

Indy and Arlo are the names of my dogs!!

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:28

What about Jackson because there is the Michael Jackson connection but it’s not so obvious
obviously we would use the middle name beesley and not Michael!

Lyrics??! You are actually considering that as a name? Prepare for them to be heavily judged and laughed at through no fault of their own. They have to be an adult with that name for a lot longer than they are a cute toddler. Dr Lyrics Mason
Professor Lyrics Buerke. Detective Inspector Lyrics Atwal. Her Honour Judge Lyrics Lyons. Or even just " Steve and his wife/ husband Lyrics ( Hendrix, Boden etc) have invited us around for a barbecue ". If you do go for it, and this isn't a wind up, maybe you should spell it with an x like Jaxon? Klaxon is a lovely name too of course, really commands attention.

TambourineOfRepentance · 07/06/2022 19:33

I think Jackson is definitely best so far.

RoseslnTheHospital · 07/06/2022 19:33

The suggestion was Lyric singular, not Lyrics plural. Several celebs have named their children Lyric recently. It's not the worst name I've ever seen!

KirstenBlest · 07/06/2022 19:34

@Snoken, MN likes non-English middle-aged persons names and insisting on the original pronunciation is ridiculous and anyone can say it correctly after you've told them once

Queenoftheashes · 07/06/2022 19:34

Don’t name your child after a paedophile

mathanxiety · 07/06/2022 19:35

Jethro
