Brother for Nirvana and Jude

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 18:05

We are looking for a brother name to go with older sister Nirvana and older brother Jude.
I am in love with both dc’s names,Nirvana was initially named after the band that me and dp both really love but when we looked into the meaning it just settled it for us, and with Jude we got inspiration from the beetle song

these are some names that we like but can’t use:
Hendrix-we didn’t love the nn options and we weren’t quite feeling it
Fender-we loved the connection to Fender amps and guitars but it didn’t feel like a complete name for us
Bowie- dp top choice right now with possible longer name Boden but we already have a Beau in our family who often gets called Bowie
Blues-family don’t feel like it’s a proper name to use
Indie-my top choice and I’m trying to convince dp
Fox-this is my second choice but don’t like the nickname possibly of foxy

We are quite settled on the middle name options either Michael or Beesley after my late grandfather

After nirvana another music themed name would be cringe. I get that you like out there names but the only none music name is fox and I think that's pretty awful.

This. So many children with names like this where I am and it makes me cringe

MumofSpud · 07/06/2022 18:49

Cliff

Sorry I admire your consistency but .....

internetpersonme · 07/06/2022 18:50

Glitter, Gary for short

Ian Watkins - obviously after the one from Steps

mynameisbrian · 07/06/2022 18:50

just call him Jim (Jim Morrison from the doors)...

Nirvana- poor kid and I love the band too

yeahy · 07/06/2022 18:50

Gosh I'm so sorry but I feel a bit sorry for Nirvana Sad Surely everyone laughs at/judges such a name. Could you find a name that is inspired by some music you like but still a bit more of a normal name. Like David as opposed to Bowie.

clarrylove · 07/06/2022 18:54

Meatloaf

BreadInCaptivity · 07/06/2022 18:54

Just pops in to note that son of David Bowie - "Zowie Bowie" now goes under the name of Duncan Jones...

Moon is a great movie btw (he directed it).

SirChenjins · 07/06/2022 18:54

I’d go off piste with Nigel or Cyril.

ladydimitrescu · 07/06/2022 18:59

Please don't use any of those names.
You cannot have children called nirvana and Hendrix.

TambourineOfRepentance · 07/06/2022 18:59

Would you have been happy being named Blues or Fender growing up OP? Not as a nickname but as your actual name.

Slightly outing but, for what it's worth, I had three older cousins born in quick succession before me called John, Paul and George. Within the family, i was nicknamed Ringo essentially from birth. As a nickname, it resulted in mild irritation. If my mother had tried to officially name me that, it'd have resulted in a deed poll application at 16 and a rather strained relationship.

RoseslnTheHospital · 07/06/2022 19:01

Moon Unit
Dweezil

There is a Hendrix in one of my children's sports team, I actually quite like it as a first name.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/06/2022 19:01

Your children are human beings, not a way to express your fandom. However, if it's a fixation, I think that you should concentrate on actual names - Jude, for example is LOVELY - rather than just random words like Fender.

You do realise that David Bowie was born David Jones, don't you..?

Zoomer122 · 07/06/2022 19:01

I didn’t realise my kids names were that controversial!!😳
Me and dh both love there names and so do our family’s and I have no regrets
Nirvana wasn’t just named after the band!hahaha
she was named due to the concept in Hinduism, Nirvana means "bliss" or being in "a transcendent state free from suffering”
And as for the spelling mistake on the Beatles totally my fault forgot to proof read

Poor child

ThorsBedazzler · 07/06/2022 19:02

Maxwell (or Silver, if you like that song)
Pepper
Soul
Yellow

Marshall (for the amps)
Gibson (guitar, obviously)

PeekAtYou · 07/06/2022 19:03

Freddie (as in Mercury)
Jagger (was going to say Lennon but you have a Beatles name)
Blue is better than Blues but people might think it's after the boy band
Jimmy/Jimi as in Page/ Hendrix
Marshall (Mathers or the company?)
Liam (as in Gallagher)
Boden - don't do it! I think clothing
Axl- as in Rose
Eddie - as in Van Halen
Ozzy- as in Osbourne

In defence of David Bowie, I'm fairly certain Zowie Bowie was only ever a nickname. Duncan Zowie Haywood Jones on BC, I think.
