Peregrine? Or Falcon?

So Peregrine is an actual name, which could be cool or could be disastrous, I'm not sure. What do you think? If not Peregrine what about Falcon? Made up admittedly, but kind of powerful?

Budgie ?

Hugasauras · 20/01/2022 21:59

I think it sounds a bit like a Gladiator! Peregrine is better, although I wouldn't be brave enough to use it Grin

BuffaloHigh · 20/01/2022 22:02

Why not both?

DramaAlpaca · 20/01/2022 22:03

Merlin is much nicer.

TheGreenLady · 20/01/2022 22:05

A Peregrine Falcon is a type of bird.

Pondtoad · 20/01/2022 22:05

Pheasant?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 20/01/2022 22:06

Boy or Girl?

Warmduscher · 20/01/2022 22:07

I had a friend in my teens whose name was Peregrine. He went by Perry, which was pretty cool, or so we all thought with our very ordinary names!

Warmduscher · 20/01/2022 22:07

@TheGreenLady

A Peregrine Falcon is a type of bird.
No shit Grin
lottiegarbanzo · 20/01/2022 22:08

Ring ouzel.

Have you heard of Robert Falcon Scott? Not made up.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 20/01/2022 22:08

Merlin is much better and is an actual boy's name.

Anotherdayanotheropinon · 20/01/2022 22:08

How about pigeon - pidge for short - or buzzard 😂

SiobhanSharpe · 20/01/2022 22:09

Isn't Falcon a model of car? (A Ford, I think)
Peregrine is usually shortened to Perry, I believe.

SuperSocks · 20/01/2022 22:09

@TheGreenLady So is 'Robin'. And 'Jay'. Still names. He wouldn't be 'Peregrine Falcon', just one or the other.

I knew a Falco. He was very cool and handsome.

BurnedToast · 20/01/2022 22:10

Ridiculous

Peregrine is an old name. It's been around for donkeys.

Mum2jenny · 20/01/2022 22:12

I do not like either. Sorry, not much help!

YuleiamsaidI · 20/01/2022 22:12

I actually really like peregrine. Not Falcon though.

Anotherdayanotheropinon · 20/01/2022 22:13

@SuperSocks the difference is Robin is an actual name. Jay is often short for James. These names are associated with people not birds.

Calling your child Falcon is completely ridiculous unless your ambition is for your child to grow up to become a wrestler on WWE. This baby will become an adult who has to function in the real world. Not just an opportunity for you to try have a ‘yooniqie’ baby name.

MinglingFlamingo · 20/01/2022 22:13

I love Peregrine because it reminds me of my romantic literature phase. And I like the nm Perry

Falcon is a bit earth mother for me

megletthesecond · 20/01/2022 22:13

It's great in a mad pregnancy hormones way Grin. Seriously, Perry would be a neat nickname. You could do a lot worse

WeasilyPleased · 20/01/2022 22:13

I agree with the Merlin lovers.

Anotherdayanotheropinon · 20/01/2022 22:14

Also ridiculous to call child ‘pair a green’ unless you shorten it to Perry and he can pretend he doesn’t have a ridiculous first name.
