What is Arthur's sister called?

I feel like I've been through every name in the world and still can't find the "perfect" one.

We're fussy because the surname is long (double barrelled), and so the first name has to be short. Also my family tends to use nicknames, so it has to have a nickname that we like.

We loved Iris for ages, but I hate all nicknames that we can come up with for it. I also love Annie as a nickname, but don't want to give her a nickname as a first name so she can use the longer form when she's older. But the only longer version of Annie that I like is Anastasia, and that feels too long with our surname!

Help!

I love Annie as a full name. I don't think it sounds nick-namey at all. Arthur and Annie Smile

I'd stop worrying about it matching another child's name and concentrate on a name you like.

Annie is fine as a first name but if you think it needs to be more formal, what about Anna?

No reason why Iris needs to be shortened either. Every Iris I know is just Iris.

Nicknames grow organically and often, as is the case with my DC in fact, the nicknames end up bearing little relation to the name you chose.

I definitely agree about nicknames growing organically, the problem we have with Iris is that we know she would end up with one, and we don't like the options, so she'd potentially end up mostly being called something we don't like.

I'm also not that bothered about her "matching" her brother in that sense, it was more to give you an indication of the type of name we like.

I love Nora and Eliza, but both sound slightly odd with our surname - you have to force a stop if that makes sense so you lose the "flow".

I never felt this much pressure naming DS, we chose his name early on and it stuck, this baby will be here in a few weeks!

I am gathering that the sur name starts with an 'ah' sound. I agree the flow would be a bit halting with a name like Flora or Anna

Supposing the name is Anderson I'm going to brainstorm names that go with that
