My absolute favourite name for a girl is Story. Absolutely love, love, love it. I just know I could never use it in the first name spot for obvious reasons. I was just wondering if anyone else has a favourite name they’ll never use?

Sorrel, Iolanthe, Genevieve, Loveday and Honor for girls

Aeneas, Julian, Comso, Atticus and Hugo for boys

Some of the names mentioned I wouldn't call bizarre. I like Lysander and Pandora (and would use them if my partner agreed) to name two mentioned above, and while they are unusual, I wouldn't call them bizarre though

Yes I did say, I get that some of mine weren’t necessarily bizarre (especially on MN where Persephone is a serious suggestion!) but for me, working class Irish living in working class Northern England, the response from my friends and family would be... “LYSANDER?! You absolute DICK.” Grin

Darwin 🤩

scrivette · 27/04/2021 17:57

My current favourite names are Clarence for a boy and Echo or Indigo for a girl (not bizarre but unusual).

Lucifer is an excellent name. Damn that devil for taking it (and why does he need so many names anyway?)

Cherish 💝
Almost brave enough to use it for DC3 who turned out to be a boy so sadly will remain as the name that never was!

FedNlanders · 27/04/2021 18:56

Loveday

NeverTrustaRabbit · 27/04/2021 18:58

@Mammymar I think so to, but our surname sounds like a day of the week so when our loud it sounded like "On a Friday" 😂😂😂

When we drive to Yarmouth we drive through a place called Elveden I think it would make a beautiful girls name. I told my daughter that if she had been born now this is what I would have named her.

I’d have assumed a conception at the Elveden Centreparcs Wink.

I love Meadow but will never ever get to use it!

CaffiSaliMali · 27/04/2021 19:56

Trystan (spelled intentionally wrong)

Trystan isn't wrong - Tristan is an anglicised spelling of the Welsh/Brythonic name Trystan.

chandyleer · 27/04/2021 19:56

I love Meredith for a boy or a girl - not bizarre at all, but not one I’d use for a boy (maybe a girl!)

SilverOtter · 27/04/2021 19:56

Ziba

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/04/2021 19:58

I also love Jessamyn. But I'm not a complete cow.

PurplePinkParade · 27/04/2021 20:05

I have a few 'out there' ones which DP has vetoed for our upcoming DC...

For a girl: Blossom, Aspen, Nova
For a boy: Apollo, Fox, Cornelius
