Just realised they shouldn't be so popular now - I have a feeling Tom and jack are still!

AlwaysLatte · 13/01/2021 07:41

We had various numbers of:
Christopher
Clifford
Jason
Paul
Claire
Sarah
Sharon
Lisa

AlwaysLatte · 13/01/2021 07:43

Out of approximately 70 girls in my year at school, five were called Sharon, and three were called Joanne. Out of a similar number of boys, we had at least five Pauls and four Johns. Guess when I was born?
1970-71?

AlwaysLatte · 13/01/2021 07:43

Oh, and lots of Julies and Nicolas!

Luckyelephant1 · 13/01/2021 09:23

Scott, Lee, Lauren, Natalie, Claire

Everyone's middle name was Louise.

apricotjamandbuffon · 13/01/2021 09:55

Yes Catherine very popular, 3 Louises, a few John's and David's. Not that much repetition otherwise.

Annoying I was one of the 3 Louises and my we all the same letter surname, one with the shortish surname seemed to go by just Louise, the other Louise B, me Louise 12lettersurname, very annoying !

I seemed to always be one of several of my name in my class but now I’m in my 40s I don’t seem to come across that many. Not sure what happened to them all 🤔

I answered the phone to a Betty today and thought of this thread. In my family mum’s gen and above, Betty was very popular. Theyd all be Beth now.

Rachel, Sarah, Emily, Katherine/Katie/Kate, Lucy.

My name was also popular but you don't hear it often given to kids anymore. There are three of us mums in DS's year at school with the same name and we all also have a DS with the same name as each other!
