Girls name 'Beige'

So I met someone earlier and her daughter is called Beige. She's a preteen.
Is this a name anyone has ever heard of? I've only ever known it to be a colour.
She only wrote it down so I don't know how she pronounced it.

I think of Beige in Chanel’s terms meanOMG classic, with class, calm, sophisticated. The opposite of showy.
