Or
Icarus and Ignatius

Identical twin boys

Thoughts or suggestions?

Errr. No. Sorry. As pepperpot99 says, they sound twattish.
Is there a reason why you think these names would be a good choice?
I'm genuinely at a loss to know why these sound like lovely names to you. There are lots of classic names and lots of fairly individual names out there. But ones that will be continually mispelled and mispronounced or changed to sound like other things really needs more thought.
Sorry.

Quinn and Castiel sound like a detective duo. Icarus is ridiculous (that nearly rhymes), Ignatius OK shortened to Nate.

PerfectPenquins · 14/08/2019 20:23

If you like castiel what about Sam and dean lol a bit toned down

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 14/08/2019 20:32

Quinn has got too popular!

PreschoolPlease · 14/08/2019 20:35

I wouldn't choose those names personally, but I definitely wouldn't have names with the same initial, just for admin purposes, getting letters etc.

TheVoiceInTheShed · 14/08/2019 21:13

Caspian and Icarus ???

SleepingStandingUp · 14/08/2019 21:30

@ShirleyPhallus and @shushymcshush I'm deadly serious.

@Krisskrosskiss you've got it. Nothing younique but different yes, classic

@ConorMcGregorsChin because I think they sound really nice? I dint know how to explain a personal taste in names shared by me and DH other than I like them

@PerfectPenquins we vetoed names of people we fancy so no Sam I'm afraid 😂

Wasn't this a detective drama in the 80s?

How about Albus and Severus
Snap and Crackle
Pinkie and Perkie
Horatio and Napoleon
Cassius and Othello
Byron and Gideon

Merename · 14/08/2019 21:38

Love Quinn, never heard of Castiel, how do you pronounce it?

Icarus and Ignatius - you surely wouldn’t actually do this to children? I hate to be brutal but you have asked for opinions, this would actually be one where people would be saying ‘can you believe, I heard of twin boys called...’

jellymaker · 14/08/2019 21:38

Salt and pepper
Bangers and mash
Peas and carrots
Are we naming guinea pigs or children here as those names are a wind up.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/08/2019 21:49

@ZenNudist.i adore Gideon but was vetoed. Cassius was on the list but I prefer Castiel

@Merename it's cass T L

I love Ignatius, Icabod and Icarus, but I guess the whole point of the Baby Names is to garner honest opinions

I thought the first were not ones I really like but then I opened the thread and saw the lizard names & suddenly the caster oil pairing doesn’t seem so bad! Confused

AverageMummy · 14/08/2019 21:58

Ivo
Idris
Quentin
Cassius

All similar sorts of sounds but an improvement....

Jamhandprints · 14/08/2019 21:58

I like Kriss's suggestion of Orpheus and Leander best.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/08/2019 22:01

DH just said no to Orpheus and Leander. We both like Orpheus but not enough to use it iyswim

Not keen on Quentin, prefer Quinn

Cassius could be an option instead of Castiel

Not keen on Idris or Ivo

Icabod? Go on, I dare you

goingdownsouth · 14/08/2019 22:07

Isn't Castiel a brand of soap?

Howtotrainyourhamster · 14/08/2019 22:12

Icarus doesn’t seem a particularly auspicious name to give a child, so even though it’s a nice sound I wouldn’t use it (I feel the same about Ophelia!)

Quinn is ok, but maybe more of a girl’s name. Castiel looks like a misprint, I’m not even sure how to pronounce it.
Ignatius is just a bit silly...

Idris and Caspian sound nice together (I love Idris, shame you don’t like it!)

Flowerspowersy · 14/08/2019 22:13

Quentin (Quinn) and Cassius (Cass)

would be my choice for boy twins

soupmaker · 14/08/2019 22:14

This is superb. I was needing a laugh tonight. I'd suggest Benson & Hedges or maybe Balonz and Balonz2.

Flowerspowersy · 14/08/2019 22:15

Quinn is more popular for boys. It sounds so strong and masculine like Finn. I prefer Quentin personally but Quinn is a good nickname

SleepingStandingUp · 14/08/2019 22:15

@Newearringsplease it worked for Mr Crane

@Howtotrainyourhamster I'm sure it won't surprise you to know Ophelia is on our girls list!! Castiel is pronounced Cass T L and it hadn't occurred to me it would be hard to pronounce Tbh but that's the thing when you know a name I guess

DH said def no to Caspian

OP posts:
tootsiesandtopsies · 14/08/2019 22:17

Bilbo and Frodo

NotAgainKen · 14/08/2019 22:20

I agree with a pp - Icarus isn't a great association (esp when it comes to listening to your parents...)
