So, I rung up my mum - here's how the phone call went:
Me "I just can't get over Acacia and not sure if Saskia is the one!"
Mum "Fuck these modern names, just choose Florence or Ivy or NORA, something classic."

NORA !!!
NORA IVY??? I looooove it. But then Saskia is more modern and DS is Grayson so they're very different styles. So many thoughts. What do you think?

Nora Ivy is fabulous. Those are the names of my two grandmas, both amazing ladies in their different ways. I’m biased obviously, but do it!

BloomsButtons · 14/07/2019 18:10

Maura?

Amelie?

Vivienne?

Tinty · 14/07/2019 18:11

Astrid choose Astrid 😁

Grayson and Astrid has a lovely ring to it. 😃

FriarTuck · 14/07/2019 18:11

Acacia is the name of an avenue surely!
Nora is dowdy.
(Grayson is gay, and I say that as a lesbian.)

Headstand · 14/07/2019 18:11

I love Nora! I think Nora Ivy sounds fab, but then Nora is my grandmother's name so I guess I'm predisposed to like it!

Not a fan of Saskia, Acacia is okay but I can imagine it being misspelled and mispronounced constantly. I guess it depends how much that is a factor for you.

MyNewBearTotoro · 14/07/2019 18:12

I don’t like Saskia or Acacia at all. Nora is okay. Mabel is nicest.

FriarTuck · 14/07/2019 18:12

Astrid is very strong & viking-like. If she has/will have long blonde hair in plaits then that's the name!! (Miles better than any other names so far)

Witsendagain · 14/07/2019 18:13

I'm really sorry but when I hear Saskia I think Sasquatch! I'm used to the way kids minds work in thinking up mean names though!

Mumof1andacat · 14/07/2019 18:24

I like ivy. No need to double barrel

Snoopy90 · 14/07/2019 18:28

I really love Saskia. I quite like Mabel as well.

Has you little one been born yet? You could try calling her a different name each day and see which one fits?

Snowflake9 · 14/07/2019 18:33

Love Mabel. But until you see her you won't know her name for sure xx

DerelictWreck · 14/07/2019 18:35

Saskia is SO 'chavvy' it's grim. Love Nora by doesn't go with your 'modern' boys name

Sophronia · 14/07/2019 18:36

I like Nora but prefer the Norah spelling

carmenbea · 14/07/2019 18:36

What names does DP like?

userabcname · 14/07/2019 18:37

Ok I like all of these except Mabel...I just don't get the love it for it. Some of my colleagues were discussing it on Friday and saying they wished they'd used it for their DDs. I really dislike it (although I can't really tell you why!). I still love Saskia and Acacia as I commented on one of your other threads and Nora is ok.

liltwist · 14/07/2019 18:39

Yeah what names does your other half suggest?

Have you gone on magic baby names it gives good suggestions

PinkOboe · 14/07/2019 18:45

Acacia? As in tree?

ShutTheFridgeUp · 14/07/2019 18:50

I love Nora! It was on my list initially until I realised it absolutely did not sound good with the middle name that we wanted! Nora Cora felt a bit cruel!
Although I do prefer the spelling Norah, but that's just personal preference

MyNewBearTotoro · 14/07/2019 18:54

I really like Eleanora. Then you can use nickname Nora but gives a ton of other options as well.

kittytiggy · 14/07/2019 18:55

Ok I do like Astrid, but don't love. I'll add it to the list though.
I like Lilia and Leila?

I think Mabel is awful too OP. Turns out we aren't kindred spirits after all 😢

Colourfulest · 14/07/2019 19:12

Okay Lilia and Leila are much nicer!

Colourfulest · 14/07/2019 19:12

How about Raya? I've seen it spelt Raeya too hut I'm not as into that.

Tinty · 14/07/2019 19:14

Boo 😒😆
How about Iris?

Aram1nta · 14/07/2019 19:15

Do I keep reading the same thread about these names?
