what do people think of the name, Season

I really like this name. It means fertile and I like that it has a growth name meaning. Jackson means son of Jack and so Season sounds like son of the sea which I love. I also like the feeling of the seasons of your life with bringing a human being into the world. Season also sounds a bit like Caesar and I like the fact that the second S sounds a bit like a Z. For a girl I think season has a cool nature vibe too and Alison, Addison don't sound masculine so Season certainly wouldn't and it sounds a bit alternative. I've never heard of this being a name though and I wonder if anyone else has. It does come up on a baby meaning list but I hadn't heard it

It's a name?

Lindy2 · 24/06/2019 19:43

It's great, they will never have to sign a Christmas card.

I hate writing Christmas cards. I might change my name to Season just for this reason. Grin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/06/2019 19:44

No. Just no. I cannot comprehend why anyone would think this was OK. Please don't do this to your child.

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 19:45

I’d go with Treason - similar sounds that you like. Not as much nature-y although bonfire night could be similar.
Or Lesion

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 19:46

The Christmas card thing is hilarious
No one would have to write their name in - ‘season’s greetings’ work from the sender’s perspective also Grin

Bananallama858 · 24/06/2019 19:47

It doesn't sound like son of sea, it sounds like the start of a good recipe. Don't do it - please.

Season Oakley could at a stretch be a rural character from a muddy Hardy novel.

Or an Appalachian settler.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/06/2019 19:48

Legion, that would sound good when introducing themselves.

Frith2013 · 24/06/2019 19:51

Season. Handy if your surname is Thoroughly.

You could sign off emails with “all the compliments of the...”

Grammarist · 24/06/2019 19:52

Nope. It's not a name.

JellyBook · 24/06/2019 19:53

Season Liberally?

C0untDucku1a · 24/06/2019 19:55

I think the pp’s idea to change your name to season is actually a great idea. Soend a week goong out of your way to meet new people at random groups and introduce yourself as season. See how they try to politely react.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 24/06/2019 19:56

Season Oakley - now I know the OP has hairy hands and feet 🤣

Ninkaninus · 24/06/2019 19:56

Haven’t RTFT but I’m sure this has come up...

First thing I think of is a dog or other animal being in season.

So it’s a firm no from me.

MeMeMeYou · 24/06/2019 20:03

Sounds a bit kardashian

MadameButterface · 24/06/2019 20:04

How about Szechuan

Or session

I love a good sesh, PLUS, it’ll remind you of life before you took a break from your unusual occupation to have an unusual amount of children at an unusually young age

:)

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 20:10

Op based on other threads have I got this right - you left school in 2015 & have 5 kids? So you’re 20/21ish with 5 children? Is this a name for no 5? How on earth do you have time to be an actress?!

Ninkaninus · 24/06/2019 20:11

Oh it’s one of those...

Thank goodness for that, I was worried for a minute.

longwayoff · 24/06/2019 20:12

Is your surname Ing?

Lots of work experience working with autistic children too Grin

myrtleWilson · 24/06/2019 20:14

also the OP is planning her secondary school choices for her eldest boy.

OP isn't "cozi' a bit too close to Rose's middle name?

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 20:20

@myrtleWilson I don’t want to sound judgemental of young mums because I’m absolutely not.....but I’m just struggling to understand how someone who left school in 2015 has 5 kids & one starting secondary school. Wouldn’t she have to have conceived at 10???

Unless there are some step children of course

Anyway it’s none of my business just hard not to be a bit baffled

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 24/06/2019 20:21

I think I know where OP does most of her 'acting'...

It's on here, right? On Mumsnet?! Her latest character thinks Season is a name, and tries to wind up a bunch of mums by insisting it's lovely when it is, in fact, a serving suggestion?

Do I win a prize?

myrtleWilson · 24/06/2019 20:22

I think the Op is 25?

Anyhow, Season still isn't a name!

HotChocolateLover · 24/06/2019 20:22

Oh god, it’s hideous 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Pick something a bit more ordinary and think of them as an adult introducing themselves at meetings etc.
