what do people think of the name, Season

I really like this name. It means fertile and I like that it has a growth name meaning. Jackson means son of Jack and so Season sounds like son of the sea which I love. I also like the feeling of the seasons of your life with bringing a human being into the world. Season also sounds a bit like Caesar and I like the fact that the second S sounds a bit like a Z. For a girl I think season has a cool nature vibe too and Alison, Addison don't sound masculine so Season certainly wouldn't and it sounds a bit alternative. I've never heard of this being a name though and I wonder if anyone else has. It does come up on a baby meaning list but I hadn't heard it

@myrtleWilson on another thread she said she left school 4 years ago.... wouldn’t 20 be quite old to be in school?

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 20:28

@ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule Grin Grin

Ravingstarfish · 24/06/2019 20:29

So how come your other 4 have normal names but season won’t have?

joystir59 · 24/06/2019 20:33

Bitches on heat are known as being 'in season'. That's what came to mind, sorry.

joystir59 · 24/06/2019 20:34

I prefer actual names.

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 20:34

@ravingstarfish don’t all decent sibsets end with a little seasoning?

FlatPackPat · 24/06/2019 20:39

Makes me think of the song from Rent

Seasons of .. LOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEE (repeat 10000X times)

As a non-name name I don't hate the way it 'sounds' iyswim but is it shit? Yep.

bigredvase · 24/06/2019 20:42

Christ op. I had a look to see if you were a troll.

I now know your 4 kids full names. Your husbands name. Both of your grandmothers names, what school you went to, what town you live in, your name and age, your sisters name, your cousins name and age, even your great great grandfathers name. And what schools your considering for your kids oh and that you had an interview at a primary school earlier this year.

That took me 15 minutes.

Peterpiperpickedwrong · 24/06/2019 20:46

Is one of the other kids called Slither? Hmm

bigredvase · 24/06/2019 21:04

Apologies op, you will not like my blasphemy.

donquixotedelamancha · 24/06/2019 21:10

Season seems like a marmite name. Either people love it or hate it.

I think you may be the only person in the first camp. Surely better to name your child after a specific season?

  • Sriracha
  • TexasBBQ
  • Cheeseandonion
Ninkaninus · 24/06/2019 21:33

I think I’d rather name my child Marmite than Season.

donquixotedelamancha · 24/06/2019 21:36

I think I’d rather name my child Marmite than Season.

Now that's a Marmite name.

Theworldcouldbemymollusc · 24/06/2019 21:41

To be fair more people would think marmite is a good name than they would season.....

LassOfFyvie · 24/06/2019 22:26

Cozi? As in tea or toes?

Or swim suit?

This must be a wind up.

myrtleWilson · 24/06/2019 22:34

Are we pronouncing 'marmite' as "mahmité" ?

Schmoozer · 24/06/2019 22:53

Is this for real 😳???
Season = dog period
🐕 yeuk !!!

EdWinchester · 24/06/2019 23:00

This is obviously a joke, but it made me laugh.

MadameButterface · 24/06/2019 23:07

Be fair, op might just be a massive Throbbing Gristle fan, altho Cosey Fanni spells it differently :)

NeverSayFreelance · 24/06/2019 23:28

@Peterpiperpickedwrong no it's Balonz Grin

Yeah I'm not feeling Season at all. Samson is similar and much better imo. There are just some words that don't work as names. Example: Summer, Autumn and Winter are all used as names but Spring isn't. Why? Because it's also a metal coil used in various constructions. It will either create images of lakes and daffodils - or it will make them picture a pogo stick.

annabelle1992 · 24/06/2019 23:41

It's not a name

joystir59 · 25/06/2019 05:37

Saison is better

joystir59 · 25/06/2019 05:38

Alternative to Spring would be Coil.

mathanxiety · 25/06/2019 05:44

To all parents out there, go with your heart when naming your child.

I have a much better idea.

Choose an actual name.

burritofan · 25/06/2019 08:53

It's actually spelled Cézanne Grin
