Just found out that we're having a girl. We were convinced it was a boy and only really thought of boy's names (on no evidence whatsoever). Any suggestions for a name. DD is Anna. We have reluctantly decided against Elsa.

Just came to say Elsa.

I know an Anna and Emily.

Can you tell me your boys names just out of interest? I have an Anna and expecting a boy now and I am STUMPED! I'll give you my redundant girls names list in return 😀

Frankthebank · 19/01/2019 20:26

Not sure if Elise is strong enough though. Although I'm not even sure what I mean by that.

Boys names were John and Liam.

Elise is pretty but I think possibly too close to Elsa?

Fannyfanakerpants · 19/01/2019 20:29

I don't think there's anything wrong with Elise and Claire but they're very 80's, where as Anna is timeless.

costacoffeecup · 19/01/2019 20:32

I've deleted my list! I had Claire on my list actually, Rebecca, Martha, Ellen, Eleanor, Joy, Julia and Georgia off the top of my head.

Petalflowers · 19/01/2019 20:33

Elise is lovely. Also, Elouise?

Suggestions:
Mary
Rose
Polly
Faye
Lara
Emma
Emily
Naomi
Esther

lottiegarbanzo · 19/01/2019 20:34

Alexandra nn Sasha (covers the boy angle too costa !)

I see what you mean about Elise. It is nice but a little flimsy somehow. Elsa is better (in the born free sense!), likewise Eloise, Louisa, Esther or Elizabeth.

I also think some Shakesperian classics like Miranda, Rosalind and Imogen would work.

lottiegarbanzo · 19/01/2019 20:35

Julia and Elinor go very well too.

costacoffeecup · 19/01/2019 20:36

Alexander is apparently a family name - I like it with nickname Sacha/Sasha actually, don't know if Alex and Anna are too similar so thinking about avoiding another A name. Good suggestion though 😀

Knew a Anna with brother John once (your potential boy’s name) and sisters were:

Louisa
Helena

Frankthebank · 19/01/2019 20:39

I love Eleanor. DH not keen. Wonder should I work on him?

WallisFrizz · 19/01/2019 20:40

Costa, boys names that go with Anna:

Matthew
Sam/Samuel
Daniel
Luke
Ethan
Thomas
Ben
Joshua
Joel
Zachary

Fannyfanakerpants · 19/01/2019 20:41

Elizabeth?
Eleanor is lovely. I have a Matilda, decided well before it became so popular and if i had another girl (I wont) , she'd be Eleanor.

I go for very unusual boys names though so my children's names really dont match.
