Everyone hates the name but I love it, what do you all think?

I love it! Are you still pregnant? Because people are very quick to judge names unless you've given it to your gorgeous little baby! Then they have to say it's lovely!

I am pregnant not aware of gender as of yet so that is my first choice for a girl

DD Is trying for a baby and apparently couldn’t imagine giving her child an name as horrible as Nancy!

I made the mistake of telling my mum one name that I liked when I was pregnant. She scoffed at it so much, I then vowed not to tell a single soul any of our name choices thereafter! She was so annoyed that I wasn't discussing names with her, but it was her fault!

Family especially seem to dislike the name! DM included! Said it is horrible, I think it’s a name that will suit the baby through all stages of life. Thought of it after watching Netflix’s show stranger things!

I'm not too keen on it personally. But I don't think there's actually anything wrong with it. It's just a like it or not keen. But it's certainly not awful.

flyingtnx - I have a story for you Op. When I was pregnant with DT's I wanted Nancy as a name, husband really really didn't want it/like it, we didn't use it and instead picked 2 names we both agreed on BUT....... I have regretted it ever since!!! So please, for me, even though we will never meet, use it!!!!!

I quite like it. I do see it as a diminutive, though - it's a pet form of Anne - but it's been a name in its own right for a long time now. I always think of poor abused Nancy in Oliver Twist, so it's a bit of "servant" name to me. Mind you, ex PM Cameron's daughter is Nancy.

DH isn’t too keen on the name either but I love it. We both like Sienna for a girl but I have my heart set on Nancy whereas he isn’t

I think it's really cute!

We do have our boys names chosen so hopefully we can stick with Nancy for girl. Husband likes Lorelai but I’m not sure (I think he has a secret love for Gilmore girls)

reminds me of a dear old aunt long since passed.... it's not a name commonly used... which makes it unique...
