If you heard the name 'Pip' would you think it's a boy or a girl?

That's it really - would you say the name Pip is more a girls name or a boys name? Thanks!

Girl or dog

I know a little Pippa but Pip I associate with the male Pip in Great Expectations and the female one in the Archers so I would be open minded.

Personally I’d always give the full name and let them choose what they want to use later, or as my late mother would have said “for when they’re called to the bar” which funnily enough hasn’t happened yet in our family) I’d have Philip or Philippa (I never know how many Ps or Ls in these names).

There is also Phyllida like the actress with the surname Law. I prefer the female versions actually. Little Pip, how lovely.

Boy because out next door neighbour had a son called Pip when we were kids.
