Looking for a really unusual girls name!

I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my second daughter and found my first's name by scrolling through this forum. Hers is very unusual but has a meaning and is not too much of a mouthful. We're looking for similar with this one. By very unusual I mean a name that's never shown up on the baby name chart which records any name that has been used more than 3 times in a year. It's a tall order I know!

We have Australian and Italian roots and surname ends in -ia so that rules out most -a or -ia ending names for us.
Nice nicknames are also a must.

As an example of what I like my all time fave name is Camira. It's Australian Aboriginal but unfortunately is the name of a shit Australian car so has been completely vetoed by OH.
Would love some help!

Avelyn.

Similar enough to Evelyn/Ava to be reconisable, but different enough to be different. I think it should be pronounced AVE-lin, but have heard it as A-va-lin too.

flumpybear · 26/10/2017 21:48

Few names I’ve come across as real girls names

Freycie (fray sea )
Vember
Barley
Davida
Theophania

chicarubia · 26/10/2017 22:19

Thanks Annabel, I really appreciate that. I don't think the perfect name is going to suddenly jump out at me.
Sophronia, I love Merinda but Mirinda is a soft drink in Oz so got vetoed last time. I also think Kirra is really cool but doesn't go with the surname (too many r's).
Getthe, I like your thinking but don't like Ava or Evelyn!
Flumpy they are all very unusual that's for sure!

I like Zalie. Reminded me of a gorgeous woman I once met called Zayda. Love that.

I really like Zalie. It’s pretty and unusual.

Just out of interest .... where do you find how many people have been named a certain name each year???
I just can’t find the info!

If you like Merinda what about Merrin/Merryn? Fab name, unusual but easy to pronounce.

So nice to see the positive comments about Zalie. I'm not 100% on it but getting there I think!
Cakes I love Merryn! Just wasn't sure about a nickname- I don't really like Merry. We always use short names and nicknames in our family but I didn't know what we'd use there.

How about Merle?(It's a form of Merrill/Muriel and means blackbird)
