I really like them! But, the ones I can think of have to many fault, despite my love for them.

Piers - reminds me too much of Piers Morgan

Rupert - Reminds me of Rupert the bear, plus, you can only shorten it to Roo!

Any ideas?

P.S, please not Tarquin

I heard a mum calling a "Wolfgang" the other day that struck me as very posh bit ridiculous

I LOVE Rupert but you can't shorten it :(

Love Hugo too but it's a bit too chubby stockbroker for my liking.

Hugh is lovely, although I would have thought it was a cockney name? Silly me

Pearce instead of piers.
Why don't you go with Rupert if you like it and don't worry about shortening it. If you want a shorter name one will evolve naturally, but you don't need a pre planned shortened nick name, seems to be a MN thing
