I really like them! But, the ones I can think of have to many fault, despite my love for them.

Piers - reminds me too much of Piers Morgan

Rupert - Reminds me of Rupert the bear, plus, you can only shorten it to Roo!

Any ideas?

P.S, please not Tarquin

Maria so Miles isn't posh?

Llewellyn is Welsh and isn't a posh English name.
Andrew (Andy), William (Bill) and Harry aren't posh, although I suppose the full version of Harry - Henry - is. I don't think Edward (Ned) is either or even Charles (Charlie) or George.

Tiggeryoubastard · 11/06/2016 20:05

Miles is what people think is posh but isn't. Kind of like a wannabe getting it wrong. That said - it's an ok name.

So far you've got both my sons, my husband, three brothers in law and a godson. It's like playing bingo!

MariaSklodowska · 11/06/2016 20:11

Miles no not posh more sort of 1970s trendy

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/06/2016 20:13

The poshest man I ever met was called John.

turquoise88 · 11/06/2016 20:14

I find Reuben really posh, despite it being quite popular.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/06/2016 20:14

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/06/2016 20:17

No.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/06/2016 20:17

Although the Americans are trying to make it one! Much like Rory.

Tiggeryoubastard · 11/06/2016 20:18

I heard about a female Aubrey and was stunned. It's definitely a males name.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/06/2016 20:18

Aubrey is a variation on Auberon, as in Midsummernights Dream.

The rapper Drake's first name is Aubrey.

Montgomery seems quite posh to me. I like it a lot.

LetItGlow · 11/06/2016 20:20

In the working class/not so working class at all community, Aubrey seems to be suggested a lot of the time.

'Me and bf ain't decided on a name yet, any suggestions lol?"

Answers: Aubrey, love Aubrey

To be honest you're going to be hard pushed to find a "toff" name that at least one uppity working class person hasn't used. Sorry about that.

strawberrybootlace · 11/06/2016 20:24

Hugh
Guy
Nigel

LetItGlow · 11/06/2016 20:25

Cunting DP is a stockbroker, very well off. He belongs to an old English family and went to Cambridge. His Mother is the daughter of an aristocrat.

Me? I'm a PA that has always been quite cultured and educated down to my own drive, but I grew up in the EastEnd and my Dad was a very rich drug dealer in Essex Grin

Casper, no where near posh but it is a lovely name. Agree with a lot of others that have been mentioned but haven't seen Marmaduke or Ignatius so adding them into the mix.

BlackHillsofDakota · 11/06/2016 20:26

We have friends who have a Rupert and they call him Rupey for short

LetItGlow · 11/06/2016 20:26

Alis what is an uppity working class person? ConfusedBlush
