Wanted: girls name. Must be fabulous.

Why am I pregnant again ffs? Stupid Catholic upbringing. My body will an unsalvageable wreck and we will be living in penury for the next two decades.

Anyway. Need a girls name. I am utterly devoid of inspiration, being interested only in grab bags of Skips and having naps.

Already have an Agnes and an Enid. Surname Stephens.

Dislike: frilliness; 'ah' endings; 'classic' names.

Like: fabulous names. I was keen on Ramona the last go-round, but think I might have lost my love for it.

Any suggestions?

Juno
Cora
Hermione

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/05/2015 14:46

Velma as in:

A blonde to make a bishop kick a hole in a stained glass window.

I think that was Velma, anyway!

LlamaWoman · 26/05/2015 14:56

How about:

Erica
Verna
Betty
Breta
Phillippa
Sandra
Inger
Estee
Renee
Virginia
Nia
Eliza
Claudia/Claudine
Nina
Rachel
Tabitha
Gabriel
Vaetild

Quite a few A endings but thought I would put them in as you did like a couple earlier with A endings.

SkodaLabia · 26/05/2015 15:35

Ingrid

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 15:36

I woke up in the middle of the night and came up with - ta-dah -
Adelaide (nn Ad or Dell)

although you have an Ag so maybe not

Llama Tabitha is one of my faves but the OP has said no names ending in -ah sound although seems to make an exception for Vita

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 15:37

Gabrielle is gorgeous but I suspect too 'pretty'.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/05/2015 15:37

OP also said no classic names but loves Anne! Smile

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 15:39

OP, I think it's going to have to be Renesmee Grin. I came across a real-life one the other day Shock

MitziKinsky · 26/05/2015 15:40

Adelaide is too West London.

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 15:40

True. She's pg though, so we can forgive her being contrary Smile

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 15:44

Eh? Is it? I would've thought names like Harriet & Olivia were West London.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/05/2015 15:52

I notice nobody's saying anything's too South London!

SkodaLabia · 26/05/2015 15:54

Greer

MitziKinsky · 26/05/2015 15:59

Harriet, Olivia, Jemima, Adelaide, Alice....all West London. The OP won't like any of them. Grin

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 16:01

South London Grin

MirandaGoshawk · 26/05/2015 16:02

Well MonEek or similar would be unusual where the OP is, no doubt

SkodaLabia · 26/05/2015 16:04

For a South London influence I'd like to contribute Stabber, it's unisex in case there are any surprises on the day of the birth.

Fizzyplonk · 26/05/2015 16:05

Sylvia
Maud
Nancy

OurGlass · 26/05/2015 16:20

Stella? Estelle?

SoonToBeSix · 26/05/2015 17:27

Vera is short for Veronica .

PunkAssMoFo · 26/05/2015 17:39

Haven't read since way back, so sorry if this has already been suggested....

Ursula!

Think it ticks the boxes & isn't too any part of London.

VixxFace · 26/05/2015 17:46

So what are east London names! ?

whyayepetal · 26/05/2015 17:47

Jacqueline
Joyce
Hester?

MitziKinsky · 26/05/2015 17:49

I don't think Ursula is London at all...it's a country name. As in hills and valleys.

MitziKinsky · 26/05/2015 17:53

Or maybe the bottom of the sea....

East London names are names which are so out of fashion they are about to come back in to fashion....like Agnes (which is making a come back, even round here which is nowhere near London, but maybe because it's French) ....Enid, Mavis etcetera.
