Wanted: girls name. Must be fabulous.

Why am I pregnant again ffs? Stupid Catholic upbringing. My body will an unsalvageable wreck and we will be living in penury for the next two decades.

Anyway. Need a girls name. I am utterly devoid of inspiration, being interested only in grab bags of Skips and having naps.

Already have an Agnes and an Enid. Surname Stephens.

Dislike: frilliness; 'ah' endings; 'classic' names.

Like: fabulous names. I was keen on Ramona the last go-round, but think I might have lost my love for it.

Any suggestions?

Please do go ahead and report the thread, reusit, if that'll make you feel happier. I've no wish to have a scrap on a thread about baby names!

Ok, reusit, let's leave it then, eh? I'm a bit bemused by everything you've posted on this thread, tbh.

ANYWAY
You haven't said whether you like Gundreda. I've been saving it for years in case I ever had another DD.
however, I'll let you have it.

Agnes, Enid and Gundreda.

MaureenMacnally · 26/05/2015 00:38

Gundreda autocorrects to 'Hundreds' on my phone.

Therefore, amazing Grin

Thank you Grin

HereNotThere · 26/05/2015 00:50

I like...

Agnes, Enid and Kate

Agnes, Enid and Jenny

Agnes, Enid and Betsy

Agnes, Enid and Jane

Agnes, Enid and Molly

I also think you need to avoid looking like you've chosen a theme. I think Agnes and Enid are lovely but they are quite trendy iykwim

Arsenic · 26/05/2015 00:54

Huh?

So the DS was imaginary? And Agnes and Enid are real?

MaureenMacnally · 26/05/2015 01:08

No, Arsenic. I posted on the (super dramatic) children's fiction section, for recommendations for some books for my "DS". DS is actually Agnes, but for the sake of anonymity I frequently name change myself, and switch up sexes and ages etc of my DC.

Obviously on this thread, the names are real (because otherwisethat would be nuts and pointless). I'll change up again after this.

All of this is normal. It's basic Internet safety. And - ffs - if I was just inventing a load of stuff, then I'm making the most awful, boring, mess of it. No bum sex or anything. Just some stuff about books, baby names and housework.

I only like Jane or Kate, herenotthere. And I don't really like them that much.

The thing is, we mostly do choose on patterns, don't we? There are tonnes of ousts on here asking if sibsets 'go'together.

OP posts:
Arsenic · 26/05/2015 01:11

Oh right.

HereNotThere · 26/05/2015 01:33

I change details of my kids sexes and ages in threads. It makes sense to do that especially when you have so many stalkerish weirdos online mentioning no names I think loads of people do it.

DampAndRotten · 26/05/2015 01:46

Peggy

Susan

Barbara

passthewineplz · 26/05/2015 02:36

Millicent, Annie, Eleanor, Lydia, Harriet, Hetty, Matilda, Clara, Polly, Beatrice, Constance (Connie)

or what about Grace.
Agnes
Enid

Grace

Arsenic · 26/05/2015 03:00

No Enid??

But OP rejected multiple names because they were too like Enid.

Arsenic · 26/05/2015 03:08

Esther - nice but would ideally like to avoid another E initial for practical reasons (unless it's amazing, in which case they can sort out their own squabbles about post)

Irene too similar to Enid?

Edna - Too close to Enid

I doubt she made all that up.

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 26/05/2015 03:09

Not rtft but suggesting

Muriel
Monica
Roberta
Shirley
Jacqueline
Hazel
Greta
Dorothy

CheerfulYank · 26/05/2015 04:19

I never got Sister Maude! Did she kill everyone?

I do love it though. Deliciously creepy.

MaureenMacnally · 26/05/2015 05:45

Resuit, there is no reason on earth why I would make any of what I've posted in this user name up. For what purpose? It's none of it sexy or even interesting.

Please check the talk guidelines about troll hunting. If you're so confident that I'm on some elaborate inexplicable wind-up then report the threat. Otherwise, let it go, let it gooooo. (Just a little joke to lighten the mood. A reference to a film that I like to watch with my DS DD DDog err... family. Grin )

I think I'm done with engaging with you on this, in any case. Though tbf, what else is a woman to do with 5:30 am pregnancy heartburn than argue with someone on MN about whether it exists or not? It beats watching the shopping channels I suppose.

OP posts:
MaureenMacnally · 26/05/2015 05:49

It's ambiguous, CheerfulYank, but the narrator is definitely unhinged so my money's on it being her that killed everyone. Deliciously creepy to be sure - it's fab.

Ha ha ha ha! I just love how you are saying so many of the suggestions are just 'too North London' and you have an Enid and an Agnes. Ha ha ha!
