We've just told the patents we're having another DC.

Their suggestions so far are

Ian and
Malcolm for boys
and
Jean for a girl!

No no no!

I quite like Jean! Definitely coming back in our bit of London. Yes, no no to Ian and Malcolm though!

MIL and DPs have suggested quite sweet names, but nothing 'right' IYSWIM.

Ikeameatballs · 05/03/2015 10:50

I also quite like Jean.

When I was pregnant with dd fil suggested Janet.

Choccyhobnob · 05/03/2015 10:52

DH's stepmother has said it would be so lovely to give baby DFIL's name as a middle name.

It is one of those 40's/50's names that I hope won't be making a comeback anytime soon (think Keith/Barry/Derek sort of names!) and DH has it as a middle name and absolutely hates it! Why would he pass this onto our offspring?!

TheNewStatesman · 05/03/2015 10:59

I like Jean!

fattymcfatfat · 05/03/2015 11:08

my poor unborn son is having derek as a middle name! his dad kicked off and wanted some input in naming this one (I named the other two) so decided to put his dads name in there. poor baby Sad

MsQueenie22 · 05/03/2015 11:33

My DH named DD2 to please his mother and I regret allowing him to do this so much. It is fine, just very popular and boring.

Squidge14 · 05/03/2015 11:34

so far I've had, Hercules, Red, Zeus, Thor and Jett...we don't even know if we are having a boy or a girl and sadly none of the above were said as a joke...

Hadron21 · 05/03/2015 11:37

My mil suggested Ruth. I thought she was joking.

PotteringAlong · 05/03/2015 11:44

If my DS was a Dd we were going to call her Ruth! I like jean!

TaurielTest · 05/03/2015 11:45

Myfanwy. We are not Welsh.

TouchPauseEngage · 05/03/2015 11:51

My MIL reeled off the following over dinner 'Andrew, John, Richard, Peter....and Geronimo'

Squidge Hercules is on my 'never in a million years brave enough but secretly love' list. I blame Cabin Pressure.

PotteringAlong · 05/03/2015 11:52

Geronimo is audacious!

NadiaWadia · 05/03/2015 12:18

I like Ruth! and Peter! No to Derek and Malcolm, though.

lostinindia · 05/03/2015 12:20

My mother suggested Roy.

IthinkIneedmorewine · 05/03/2015 12:20

I have a Peter and a middle name Jean! and I love Ruth...

Redhead11 · 05/03/2015 12:23

Don't like Malcolm, but nothing wrong with Ian and Jean. I also like Ruth, Andrew, John, Richard and Peter. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Choccyhobnob · 05/03/2015 12:24

Oh dear sorry fatty ! This is our first so I haven't got any of the "you named the last one" arguments! I've just said no way to his dad's name! (It's Trevor!!)

theforceawakens · 05/03/2015 12:25

My MIL loved Ezekiel. She suggested it for every grandchild that's come along but no one has gone with it.

My parents didn't suggets any names, although my mum was partial to a fair bit of face pulling at names we discussed if she didn't like them!

InanimateCarbonRod · 05/03/2015 12:25

My mother always asked for names like hers. So for example if her name was Margaret (not her real name) she was always suggesting Maggie, Marge, Megan, Marguerita etc. No no and NO.

ems1910 · 05/03/2015 12:26

I love Ruth! :)

My mum suggested Aubrey.

PatMullins · 05/03/2015 12:26

Babushka Hmm

FickleByNurture · 05/03/2015 12:29

Aibhlinn. Lovely name but not only have I not managed to get pregnant yet (name means longed-for child) but I'm unable to spell it without looking it up on the Internet.

Bragadocia · 05/03/2015 12:32

Adrian. Not like the Mole, she hastened to add; like the Popes. Because that redeems it… (she's not Catholic BTW)

FreckledLeopard · 05/03/2015 12:32

My mother was very keen on naming my unborn child "Mungo". Not quite sure why. Thankfully I had DD.

fattymcfatfat · 05/03/2015 12:33

choccy he wanted to name DS1 wayne Confused
I overuled. DS technically named DD and DS2 ive only relented as thats a middle name amd doesnt have to be used Wink
