Or is it more of a boys name?

I am currently watching Sarah and Duck, duck is a penguin

They have sea cows too, they're Manatees aren't they? Manatee would be a good girls name.

vestandknickers · 11/09/2014 17:17

I think its lovely.

My DD is called Bantum which we like, but Penguin is more worldly.

vestandknickers · 11/09/2014 17:19

pinksquash Grin

There's a Manatee-Mai-Mongoose in my DS's class.

I think its a bit much.

BetweenDogandWolf · 11/09/2014 19:12

vestandknickers Is she called Mmm for short?

WidowWadman · 11/09/2014 19:19

My youngest is called Cassowary, which is rather apt if you look at the trail of destruction she leaves behind...

secretsquirrels · 11/09/2014 19:28

DS has a friend called Pingu.

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 11/09/2014 19:45

DH is a microbiologist so leans towards the tiny (in more ways than one).
We feel that Sam and Ella suit the dc perfectly

My favourite so far Grin

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 11/09/2014 20:27

Penguin!! Heard it all now. WTAF kind of name is Penguin.

Cereal0ffender · 11/09/2014 21:12

Penguin is an excellent name for my indigo child

OP posts:
Ilikepie · 11/09/2014 21:30

WTAF is an indigo child?

OldF0ssil · 11/09/2014 21:33

oh that will really really crack you up. google indigo child and be prepared for your actual eyest to fucking pop out of your head.

Some people are HELD TOGETHER by their own nonsense.

springlamb · 11/09/2014 21:34

They're not feeling it Enrique.

Campy anyone? For those with a thing about 5 syllable names.

Lweji · 11/09/2014 21:39

"Not all children born since about 1980 are indigos."

Oh, darn. Could it be possible that my Heron is not indigo?

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 11/09/2014 21:39

Can't believe some of you are being so rude about this name. FFS before you post you should think about people whose DC are already called the name. Angry

I have a little Penguin (DD) OP. Suits her down to the ground. Everyone says it is very original. Smile

Cereal0ffender · 11/09/2014 21:57

My little bean's aura is definitely indigo, I am hoping to birth her on a full moon in the open sea on a neap tide. The placenta will remain attached as long as penguin wishes and then I can encapsulate it for my own nourishment.

OldF0ssil · 11/09/2014 22:12

Sauté it with some green peppers. That's what I did.

AbbieHoffmansAfro · 11/09/2014 22:31

Placenta would be a splendid name.

Heyho111 · 11/09/2014 23:31

If there were that many in a class it would be a flock !

MrsPatMustard · 12/09/2014 07:00

Love it but only when spelt 'Penguin',. It's classic and definitely passes the 'high court judge' test.

Have you also considered Cormorant for a boy?

GerundTheBehemoth · 12/09/2014 07:48

Kittiwake is a lovely girl's name. Would suit an outgoing, raucous child.

Stupidhead · 12/09/2014 08:29

Proper lolling!
That's not our family name.

Lweji · 12/09/2014 08:34

Even worse, I've just realised there is a possibility my little nephew Levi and niece Jean may not be indigo either. Shock

PoirotsMoustache · 12/09/2014 08:39

Lewji I am very unsure of myself these days, so although I thought it was a wind up, I wasn't convinced I was correct. Plus, there are so many 'different' names used nowadays, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that people could be considering Penguin as a name. After all, there are children running around called Chardonnay and Seksi.

But yes, I was being particularly dim. Sorry!

KikitheKitKat · 12/09/2014 09:00

Just to clear up a misconception: an indigo child is one born wearing lots of dark blue boho layers and possibly a pair of tan amkle boots.

Lweji · 12/09/2014 09:04

Oh, thanks Kiki, you've just reassured me. Phew!
