So depressed by the lack of interesting boys names!

Due in 9 weeks, and every boys name I hear bores me to tears!

Not interested in cutesy little boy names (Alfie/Archie/Charlie) and absolutely no 'Thomas the Tank Engine' names (Edward, Henry, James, etc).

Impress me with something a wee bit different!

Do you know what you are having? I entirely failed to engage with a single boys name and there were only girls names on the table when I went into labour. I had a girl I am convinced my brain knew I didn't need to bother with them.

Showy · 31/08/2014 20:48

I have a Raphael Erasmus but also like...

Ivo
Caspar
Ezekiel
Bram (Abraham)

I like Matthias. Erik is strong too!
Remy is also good (though a bit Gallic?)

dylan, Leon, finnley and sid are my favorites for boys.

Bunbaker · 31/08/2014 21:14

There are thousands and thousands of boy's names. There must be something you like.

If you choose Erik, your child will constantly be correcting people's spelling of it.

funnyoldonion · 31/08/2014 22:14

I met a guy called raven yesterday and he really suited it, I also love Floyd

Yes that's true, easily misspelled names are bad news.
I absolutely love Diggory (and also Digby) but DH has vetoed.
Ellis is nice, I like that.
