Going on from the boy thread. I'm 14 weeks so don't know what I'm having yet but I have the feeling its a girl. Only problem is we have a boys list a mile long but only some ok girls names.

I love Teddy, Tyger, Wolf, Fox, Dexter etc for boys but can't seem to find any names like this for girls. Any ideas?

put any random woman's name into urban dictionary and you'll get a similar 'definition'.

Orphelia isn't a real name, Needsasockamnesty

Nothing wrong with Ophelia, though.

merrymouse · 02/03/2014 16:21

Not sure Ophelia is a good role model for young girls.

Was it not quite obvious that I just made a spelling mistake?

Easy enough to do

Vibrissa · 02/03/2014 16:37

Twice?

NeedsAsockamnesty · 02/03/2014 16:42

Yes, how spelling mistakes often work is you think a word is spelt in a certain way so tend to spell it that way every time you write the word.

Making the mistake once but not doing it again would be a typo.

As to the first 'sentence' I wouldn't know, personally Wink

Lisbeth, Haruna, Arnalda

manicinsomniac I'm another Rebecca! Which is probably why I'm leaning towards the more unusual end of the name spectrum. Within my friend group at school there was 5 of us. Drove us all nuts. My middle name (mentioned once in this thread) was so much more unusual and I wish I had the guts to use it but never did.

Now we live in a arty/alternative area where we can name our kid whatever we like and very few people will be as judgmental as some of the folks on this thread. Its not like those of us who favor more unusual names go on the boring name threads and start slating them. ;)

We've got it down to about 6 names none of which are hard to say or spell and all of which are lovely! Most have been mentioned on this thread but the top one hasn't. We'll see. Still a fair few months to go.
