Going on from the boy thread. I'm 14 weeks so don't know what I'm having yet but I have the feeling its a girl. Only problem is we have a boys list a mile long but only some ok girls names.

I love Teddy, Tyger, Wolf, Fox, Dexter etc for boys but can't seem to find any names like this for girls. Any ideas?

Benedicte with an "e" is the feminine form of Benedict. Widely used on the continent and in Scandinavian countries.

I'm just excited someone put down my daughter's name Lorelai as cool! It is very cool thank you very much-

I think Reagan is really cool for a girl... I tried to push that one on DH but he couldn't grasp naming our DD after a ex American president.

Also: River
Teagen
Alex

Love Felix don't like Felicity lol.
Funny you should mention Barbra and Margret they are our Grandmas names and have been considered. Maybe for a middle name but I don't love either.

So many names I like still not one that I get a gut feeling about but maybe thats a good thing. Wont be disappointed if OH doesn't like any of them then.

Elvi. I have come across two and I absolutely love it. So, so lovely.

Martorana · 28/02/2014 14:27

Isn't Elvi a plus sized clothing company?

aufaniae · 28/02/2014 14:38

If you'd like to honour Margaret but not so keen on the name, how about one of these diminutives or Margaret?

Rita
Daisy
Greta
Mairead
Margot
Marenka
Margalo

... and loads more here

aufaniae · 28/02/2014 14:44

Surely 'middle class' and 'cool' are mutually exclusive, non?

I like:

Biba
Sorrel.
