I like Bristol. If the OP is having twins, she could have a pair of Bristols ... Or she could go upmarket with Bath.

If we are doing deserts, we should not do Sahara. It is overrated and it keeps spreading. We should suggest Gobi. That's a good desert. Or Kalahari

Marli1980 · 10/11/2013 13:57

Hmmm ok

Rivers - Trent, or Clyde for a boy
Otherwise what about Swindon?

Rosencrantz · 10/11/2013 14:01

Genuinely think India is pretty, but it is not the 'next Paris'.

OP... Do you know that Paris was used by Shakespeare as a boys name? Maybe looking to Shakespeare might help you find something.

Marli1980 · 10/11/2013 14:01

No it's a girl

:) at Rosencrantz suggesting looking to Shakespeare - you would say that!

We are looking for placenames in Shakespeare now. Denmark? Illyria? Scotland?

juneau · 10/11/2013 14:03

I have a feeling this OP won't be looking to Shakespeare for inspiration.

Surely this has to be a wind up?

Rosencrantz · 10/11/2013 14:05

I love Shakespeare names! Currently ttc DCs Cobweb and Mustardseed Wink

Rosencrantz · 10/11/2013 14:06

Sadly I don't think this is a wind up...

ancientbuchanan · 10/11/2013 14:07

Where will your dd be born? Florence Nightingale was born in Florence, the Mountbattens were governor general and spouse of India..if there is a pretty local association perhaps you could use that? Though I am grateful not to be called Calgary.

Or places you like? The next Nightingale daughter was called Parthenope.

The Italian names are pretty, though. If you don't like Verona, Verena is a normal name, and I love Venetia.

If you are looking for a country, though I personally wouldn't, Austria.

Honestly, not Lusaka, Kinshasa, Brazzaville. Truly terrible places.

Wuldric · 10/11/2013 14:10

You could go Middle-Eastern? Damascus, Syria, Palestine, The Levant ... What the hell, go the whole hog with Iraq.

Rosencrantz · 10/11/2013 14:12

Please do tell us what you go with in the end OP!

Marli1980 · 10/11/2013 14:13

Juneau why? English is not my original language so it's not perfect that does not mean I can not understand Shakespeare? How are some people just commenting to be horrible?? If I think I would like a different name something unusual maybe a place does this make me stupid? Some names that have been advised on here are really nice.
