BlueSuedeStiletto · 30/08/2012 21:12

Nelly- It's a close call, but I think I'd rather be called 'Dirty Squat' in Polish then 'Bloody Diarrhoea@ in English! Grin

Bean74 · 30/08/2012 21:15

Heard of a Merlin today which was quite funky!

JennyPiccolo · 30/08/2012 21:29

HappyOrchid · 30/08/2012 21:31

My parents neghbours are Albert and Shona Hall.
A colleague's name is Lila White (she married into it) ans I do know a publican called Mary Christmas (again her married name)

Every time this topic comes up I'm reminded of the lad called cheyenne higginbottom my dad taught in a derbyshire pit village school in the late 1950s....

Definitely the worst name I've every heard.though my pet peeve is uneek spellings hyphenated with mai/mae/maeee and other UN necessary vowels!

QOD · 30/08/2012 22:24

I knew a Gervaise at school, he'd be early 40s now, sounded like the son of a lord but just lived in a bog standard house.

specialmagiclady · 30/08/2012 23:07

I knew a little boy called Isaac. That's a nice name. Unless your surname's Dick. Which it is. (say it aloud and watch the chaps queue up...)

mrswright1 · 30/08/2012 23:34

The worst i heard was 2 little boys, one called Eric Derek, the other called Peter Blue (this was because his mother wouldnt agree to Blue Peter!)

mrswright1 · 30/08/2012 23:35

Dwayne Pipe, i love it!

BlueSuedeStiletto · 30/08/2012 23:50

lawncourt just saw your post. I don't think Ivy is 'out there', its on my list for potential DD. However Melina (actually spelled melaena) is the medical term for bloody, mucousy diarrhoea and therefore makes me cringe a bit when it's used as a girl's name!

crackcrackcrak · 30/08/2012 23:53

I have the autobiography of a lawyer called Cupcake Brown - she may well be a judge now. I wouldn't mess with her!

Spike is a great name for a dog. Not a child. Unless its a nickname.

I'm pretty liberal about names as long as they are spelled and punctuated correctly - I think we owe our children that much.

We have some choice names at work though less than you'd think (I am a SW) but its the surnames that amuse me more. You get these kids with exotic first names and surnames straight out of corrie. Example; Champagne, Chantelle and Mercedes.........battersby

BlueSuedeStiletto · 30/08/2012 23:53

lawnCont even. Damn autocorrect!
