Diesel.

Apparently, even the registrar said 'Are you sure?'!

Shinel. Was supposed to be Chanel, I think - I reckon the parents couldn't spell. This was in Scotland so this particular registrar chose not to interfere.

I know a Shiraz, he's in his 40's and I think it's a Popular name in his culture.

Fennel. Just awful. I was horrified. Poor girl.

Always, this little child was a small blond girl

LOL at Shinel. Written down it looks like a fine Yiddish boy's name "That Shinel's a real mensch" etc.

A little girl in DD's swimming class called Londyn. I know that the spelling as her mother had a tattoo.

Shiraz is a town in Iran, famous for its poets, literature, culture and some sweeties/nougart/cookies (yum yum), and long ago its wine. Its seen as somewhere cultured and high class. Never heard of a person called Shiraz or Shirazi. I suppose its a bit like calling someone her 'Cambridge' or 'Oxford'.

Yesterday I met a Dandelion. Several people were Hmm but I quite like it.

Speaking of Sanpro - Comfort Shields. Not a child but an actual person.

Comfort is quite a popular name in London methinks...

I quite like Dandelion - wasn't Keith Richard's son originally called that or am I imagining it???

I once knew a Sorrel and she was lovely - a bit of a hippy chick in the best possible way....

You do often find though that these 'way off piste' type of names can encompass both ends of the social spectrum...

Yes Comfort I think you can get away with. It's fairly common in itself. But not with that surname Grin

I know a Tia Marie! Too close to the drink!
Someone else I know, his partner wanted both grand fathers names, which isn't too bad, but he had to explain why John Thomas wasnt a sensible choice! Lol
Was stood at the bus stop the other day and although the name is fine, (and I'm not being racist at all) but I though Jamal didnt really suit a Caucasian child. Just seemed a little weird!
Was expecting to look and see him blinged up

stargirl "Jehane" is an old French feminine version of the French "Jean", I used to know a Jehane and she said it was pronounced like "Jane".
