Just that really. I'm pregnant with dc2 and I love lots of names but wouldn't have the guts to use some of them - silly I know!!!

One of my faves for a girl is Luna/Lunar.

Just for fun- what are yours?

Iwantanotherbaby - my daughter is called Hermione, no problems apart from the odd individual who mishears it as Armani. Purlease......

rusmum · 28/08/2012 23:23

Olive

goingmadinthecountry · 29/08/2012 00:36

Lovely to hear of so many Ptolemy fans. It was my choice for no. 4 but she was a girl. Ophelia was a choice for no.1.

changeznameza · 29/08/2012 00:45

ds was very nearly Ignacio - or Ignatius - I wanted him to be Iggy.

but we chickened out when he was born and gave him a very normal boring name.. no regrets though

and dd was very nearly Pearl - chickened out again, just worried it didn't sound that nice when you say it (like bleugh) - i do love it though

also like Myra, Roxanne, Roxy. we all need to buy a lot of pets.

emmyloo2 · 29/08/2012 03:15

Onadietcolabreak - oh you should have used Humphrey! What did you end up going with?

I fell in love with the name after a saw a little boy at the park called Humphrey and it suited him to a tee.

I just get so bored of hearing the same names over and over again at the park, and some of them are lovely names but dear god.

Onadietcolabreak · 29/08/2012 07:38

We went with Tobias but he gets called Toby, of Which there are at least another 6 of at his school :( never liked it, he's still a Humph to me! I've regretted all my 3 dc names, as I'm a chicken :(
If I had anymore dc I would have a Bluebell, a Juniper (my dream name) and a Balthazar.
But I'm not aloud anymore :(

broadsheetbabe · 29/08/2012 08:04

Zeus and Apollo

iguanadonna · 29/08/2012 08:24

Ludovic

Ivo

Idris

emmyloo2 · 29/08/2012 08:53

Balthazar is another one I adore. DH said no but I think it's fabulous!

Toby is a lovely name though.

My DS is George and while I love it, sometimes I wish I had been more adventurous.

I know two sisters called Saffron and Juniper both in their 30s. I love both the names, although I guess for their times they would have been very out there!

DS has very traditional name George Edward. For a boy I also liked, Arlo, which dh thinks "too odd" , Emile was also vetoed because I have a French ex, it's too like Emily and it reminds him of Emile Heskey. Tbf a french name wouldn't work well with our surname.

Most of my preferred girls names were dismissed as "Old lady"; Edith, Sadie, Etta. However we did agree on Iris Elizabeth, dd is now 3yo.

Think my baby days are over, so future family pets might have some nice names.

ZuleikaD · 29/08/2012 09:39

We've got Idris on our list for DC3 (good old Welsh name, also been watching a lot of Ivor the Engine with DD so it seems normal now). I really like Augustus/Gus but DH has vetoed.

mumof2teenboys · 29/08/2012 09:48

I loved Loki when I was pregnant with my ES, got talked out of it by my mum. Sad

Also loved Anastasia both of my pregnancies, had 2 boys so that went nowhere.

Was toying with either Jared or Jareth as well.

ponytails · 29/08/2012 12:40

i also love Donya, Bronwyn and Cadence for girls
my friend loved the name Ivor but cannot use it as her surname is Stiff

2dolly2 · 29/08/2012 18:08

bluebell is lovely !!!.....
I love spike as a boy !!!..

HaveALittleFaith · 29/08/2012 18:58

Blimey DH has just said Bellatrix is an option!!!

Grin ponytails! I know a Stiff family!

JugglingWithFiveRings · 31/08/2012 12:51

Ooh, I like "Idris" Zul - and we love Ivor the Engine Smile

Wiggy29 · 31/08/2012 20:18

If we were a bit more hippy zippy me& dp both love Tide for a girl and Oak for a boy.

I loved Ned for dc1 but everyone hated it except my mum. I also liked Sebastian but dp thinks it's too pretentious. I love Avery though so I'll defo suggest that.

blueshoes · 31/08/2012 20:25

Tarquin

Nobhead · 31/08/2012 20:30

Vincent or Vinnie. Had dreams of calling DS this but when it came down to it we couldn't do it. Still love it though.

Nobhead · 31/08/2012 20:31

If we have another DS DH wants to call him Bryce Hmm he was promptly told to get to fuck Smile

eggandbean · 01/09/2012 12:11

Troy! Adore the name and goes really well with our surname, DH said an absolute no though, and can't blame him, don't think I'd be brave enough to go for it anyway. sigh So I just daydream about it instead...

PeahenTailFeathers · 01/09/2012 12:19

I wanted Thalia, Olympia, Augusta, Tiberius (I was hormonal but I actually still like it Grin) or Delphinium for my DD but she'll hopefully be glad I went with Flora. I did use Augusta as one of her middle names, though.

JugglingWithFiveRings · 01/09/2012 19:56

Ooh, Olympia would be rather good for a girl born this summer wouldn't it ?
Flora lovely too. I adore flowers Thanks

lisa2104 · 15/09/2012 13:28

I love the name Daenarys. It comes from a book called Game Of Thrones and I really want to use it if I have a girl but I am scared it will get laughed at

lisa2104 · 15/09/2012 13:33

i like Jared mumoftwoteenboys
