I love Ozymandias nn Ozzy for a boy.

Anakin too.I am a SW geek though.Blush

Horatio.

And for a girl,Pepper.

I doubt that I'd ever use any of them. They're my guilty pleasure names.

What are yours?

I'm currently having this problem as we're expecting a boy and I want an unusual name to go with DD who is Emmie (not very unusual, but it's uncommon, though more common as a nickname for Emma).

I like Kane, Lucas, Tobias, Xavier, Jackson, Demetri, Quentin, Miles, Dexter, Felix.

DP only likes Jackson lol. But think I'll keep an eye on this thread for ideas lol.

mrsbugsywugsy · 07/06/2012 17:02

Bear I like Miles, not keen on Jackson (sounds like a surname)

LineRunner · 07/06/2012 17:04

Dardanelle and Vladivostok

RuleBritannia · 07/06/2012 17:06

I had an Aunt Something Millicent and thought about calling our daughter Melisande, a variation, but my later-to-be-X decided against it.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 07/06/2012 17:07

Gabriel for a boy, as in ' far from the madding crowd'

Dh said no way.

I've had people say baby cakes' name is unusual (Leo), but it doesn't seem that uncommon to me, though he is the only one I know

BigBoPeep · 07/06/2012 17:09

Isambard & Josiah Blush

loving Rudyard too, and Forest...

diavlo · 07/06/2012 17:10

I love Loveday for girls, but dh said no :(

elliejjtiny · 07/06/2012 17:24

I love Gabriel but DH doesn't. DH likes Hezekiah and I have to admit it's growing on me. I also like Silas, Julian, Micah and Ezekiel for a boy and Nerys, Eliesha, and Jadzia for girls

One of my boys is called Jeremiah. I've tried to shorten it but he's having none of it Grin

Mindyourownbusiness · 07/06/2012 17:28

Ooh Makescakes I love Gabriel too only cos I have a massive crush on Gabriel Byrne the Irish actor always seems to play an edgy priest phwoarrr.

It is a lovely name though in its own right .

LineRunner · 07/06/2012 17:39

Loveday is fantastic.

Loveday Parsimony.

lashingsofbingeinghere · 07/06/2012 17:42

Love Hebe and quite fond of Rollo.

DS has a friend called Tigerlily, which is sweet.

Mermaidspam · 07/06/2012 17:49

Missy44 - My great-grandmother was named Ivy Novello Harper, her mother was good friends with Ivor Novello Smile

BigBoPeep · 07/06/2012 17:51

Jeremiah! yes!

Abitwobblynow · 07/06/2012 18:04

Hephzibah - how lovely!

TwllBach · 07/06/2012 18:15

Tierney for a girl - i think I like it purely because of the actress Maura Tierney Blush

QueenFuri · 07/06/2012 18:20

Piper for a girl and I remember reading in a magazine years ago about a woman who named her daughter Matisse I've always liked it. Shade for a girl in one of my favourite movies the lead character has this name. I'm not sure for boys I tend to like traditional names I like Stellan not sure that is unusual though?

seeker · 07/06/2012 18:22

Fauve.

But I was a great fan of S&F books in my youth.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 07/06/2012 18:25

I like Loveday too! Also Lesceline.

Really want to call a boy Wolfie. Not Wolfgang nn Wolfie (ie Vulfie), but Wolfie as in Wolf. Not sure DH will go for it if we do have a boy.

readysteadymummy · 07/06/2012 18:25

I love Darwin for a boy.

amck5700 · 07/06/2012 18:28

Piper isn't unusual round my way - we have a small primary school (200 pupils) and have 2 Pipers, one girl and one boy - similar age and live a couple of streets away from each other!

kickingking · 07/06/2012 18:35

In real life, my DC have very solid, boring names.

In my dreams, I like Bronte for a girl. And Wren and Echo.

Not sure about boys. I met a baby boy called Maverick once. A bit Top Gun for me!

MissM · 07/06/2012 18:36

My nephew is Leo and so are a couple of friends! I like Bronte but it reminds me of Andy Macdowell unfortunately.

saschamiles · 07/06/2012 18:46

Artemis (always accompanied by floppy eared hounds in myth)
Although we have a basset hound .... Vetoed by DH

Cordelia?

amck5700 · 07/06/2012 18:47

"And Wren and Echo. "

we have a kitchen shop near us called Wren, it would almost be like calling your child B&Q :o

kickingking · 07/06/2012 18:58

Well I like it
