Unusual Boys Names

Hi all,
Pregnant with DC2, got my 20 week scan in 3 weeks and we're hoping to find out what it is but i'd like to have a shortlist of names.
I think we've decided (for now at least) on Delilah Mei for a girl (Mei spelt that way as a nod to one of my favourite films, not a bid to be 'interesting') but really stuck for boys, plus DH and I just can't agree. We have Dexter so it needs to go with that, only other criteria is that it should be unusual but not really weird.

Can anyone inspire me?

Wasn't sure about peregrine, but perry is lovely so coming round now.

I have a Malcolm, it only ever appears on threads with titles like "awful names unfeeling parents saddle their kids with" but I love it and it suits my wee chunk

Has anyone mentioned Laurie (short for Laurence, I guess)? Not sure how unusual, but I love it, and we nearly chose it for DS2.

I have Deacon Jude. I'd just read Pillow Talk but DH vetoed Arlo, so that was my second choice!

Unusual enough without being crazy, and goes nicely with Dexter I think.

Oh and beware of Noah - it's a lovely name, I chose it for ds1 :) so I am biased but it is getting incredibly popular. There are 3 in ds1's year!

for miles, i know someone called that but it is spelt MYLES, which i think takes it away from miles as in distance =)! x

lyra41 · 19/10/2011 09:59

My friend has twins Caesar and Lucius, very unusual I think.

PosiesOfPoison · 19/10/2011 10:34

Humphrey, love that name and love humf.

DS3 is Artemus Somerset....not that's unusual.

From this thread I know one of nearly every name listed!!

PosiesOfPoison · 19/10/2011 10:34

now....not not.

Bloodredrubyblue · 19/10/2011 11:15

I like the name Art

PosiesOfPoison · 19/10/2011 11:24

We hope that if shortened it's Art and not Artie, loads of Archies around these parts.

Bunsyduff · 19/10/2011 11:28

My little boy is called Dory and after a bit of difficulty in thinking we had been too unusual, I love it. Have come across two men with the name- both v handsome!- and we tell people it is dory as in hunky...

rockboobs · 19/10/2011 11:28

love Ptolemy. shortened to Tolly. Its delicious and makes me think of a really cuddly little boy with jam on his face.

CaptainNancy · 19/10/2011 11:53

rockboobs that made me laugh! My 2yo is a cuddly little boy, often with jam on his face. Not a Tolly though (the only 'Tolly' we know is short for Bartholemew), though DS' name is on this thread.

LaTristesse · 19/10/2011 13:14

I really love Dory... but wasn't that fish in Finding Nemo called Dory?
