What would your parents have called you if you were born the opposite sex?

I would have been a Daniel Jack, tennessee whiskey anyone? Grin

Tomos Llywellyn.

AvengingGerbil · 17/05/2011 14:56

My Mum says she would have called me Peregrine. My Dad says no she bloody wouldn't...

Sheepasaurus · 17/05/2011 16:15

I would have been a James, I was nearly a Faye, which I much prefer to my actual name.

gabid · 17/05/2011 16:16

Robert

BelleEnd · 17/05/2011 16:19

Niiiice jeffinghell. Lovely classic name. Is your name as nice?

I would have had the lovely Welsh moniker of Deio. Love it!

BulletWithAName · 17/05/2011 17:37

Raoul- Arrrrggggghhh! Thank god I was a girl! Grin

TallulahBetty · 17/05/2011 17:40

Anthony. Which is weird cos my brother (2 years later) has a completely different name Confused

mustdash · 17/05/2011 17:43

Colin. The name I actually got wasn't much better.
DH was named by his big brother - it's awful too, DH is very bitter.

My DCs have lovely names though. Grin

Minicooper · 17/05/2011 17:46

Gareth Russel. Which somehow sounds like 'gristle' to me...

WiiUnfit · 17/05/2011 18:58

Grin @ Rupert, Dorian, Sheridan, Murray & Reginald!

Gareth Russel does sound like gristle to me too Minicooper Grin

DP is a Christopher Andrew, if he was a girl he would have been a Christine Anne or a Charlotte Anne (his initials the same as his late Aunt's) :)

Probably Craig for my Uncle who died when he was 17,three years before I was born.

My cousin who is two years younger than I,was named for him instead.

NotJustKangaskhan · 17/05/2011 19:28

Tyler Joseph. My mother was so sure I was a boy, it's the only name she had ready, and when I came out the 'wrong' sex, she just pulled a girl's name off of one of her soaps to get the naming over. I've heard how very disappointing it was and how she doesn't really like the names so many times that I keep long 'short lists' of lovely meaningful names for both sexes at the birth.

Scorps · 17/05/2011 19:30

My sisters and I would have been named Thomas, Daniel and Owen.

I'm Thomas. Sometimes we even greet each other with our boy names Grin

Lexilicious · 17/05/2011 19:31

Eric. I think my dad might be pulling my leg. My brother is Stephen but would have been Sarah.

WishIWasRimaHorton · 17/05/2011 19:36

Neil Jeffrey

Hmm

When I said, 'what OMG why on earth?', she said 'after my first husband, Norman John'.

Right - so you were going to call your son a name which had the same initials as your first husband, whom you divorced because he was a bully and the marriage was never consummated. yes, that sounds like a completely sensible idea.

thank god i was a girl, really!

ManicAnnie · 17/05/2011 19:36

Sean. I quite like it, actually.

emmanumber3 · 17/05/2011 21:30

Peter Jon (1975).

WizardofOs · 17/05/2011 21:41

Nicholas (1973)

Could have lived with that although I would have shared a name with a famous TV journalist.

Littlepurpleprincess · 17/05/2011 21:47

Keith. Hmm

I don't like it. I do like my actual name very much so I'm glad I'm a girl.

pamplemousse · 17/05/2011 21:55

Jacob!

mumatron · 17/05/2011 21:59

MollyMurphy · 18/05/2011 01:55
