What would your parents have called you if you were born the opposite sex?

I would have been a Daniel Jack, tennessee whiskey anyone? Grin

Anthony.

And not being from the UK will someone explain why Murray is so terrible? I love that name... Blush

frakyouveryverymuch · 18/05/2011 05:30

I would have been Douglas apparently!

GotArt · 18/05/2011 05:35

Henry; all first born boys of the first borns are Henry. Can't convince DH to go with it though. He thinks the name is harsh. I love it.

fourbears · 18/05/2011 05:48

I would have been Phillip! So glad I was a girl. My mum still really loves the name and although I don't like the name now, I called my favourite doll Phillip when I was nine. Smile

CheerfulYank · 18/05/2011 05:56

Brandon.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 18/05/2011 05:59

Christian. But they wouldn't have let anyone shorten it to Chris. Yeah right.

Fenouille · 18/05/2011 06:23

Christopher. Like it better than my name as you can shorten it.

When I was pg with DC my Dad kept on about me choosing the name Evelyn if it was a girl over my dead body In the end I told him if he had another girl he could call her that Grin Just glad he didn't think of it any earlier as it's even worse than my actual name.

WiiUnfit · 19/05/2011 00:52

I like Rory! :)

Murray isn't terrible Hoping, it's just unusual & was the surname of my Primary School Headteacher Grin

I see. That make me feel better. I like unusual. I like Rory to I must say.

tiggyfours · 19/05/2011 10:37

Duncan!

Fimbo · 19/05/2011 20:00

Duncan is my ds's middle name. I love it.

GypsyWillow · 19/05/2011 20:13

I'd have been Martin - lucky escape.

Fenouille I love the name Evelyn! It's one of my back up name in case the drs are wrong and its a girl!

UndiscoveredApprentice · 19/05/2011 20:28

John

Timothy

birdofthenorth · 20/05/2011 17:08

Gavin. I am glad I am female.

Isla77 · 23/05/2011 22:23

Colin Campbell - can you guess I am scottish? Hate the name Colin. Not particularly keen on the name they gave me which is also scottish and, as I live in England since I got married, also constantly having to spell it and tell people how to pronounce it. My three children have gorgeous names though as well as easy to pronounce and to spell. They all seem happy with their names.

iskra · 24/05/2011 09:12

Andrew.

Although when my brother was born a few years later they called him Harry Andrew. My brother would have been Rachel if he was a girl.

jenniec79 · 24/05/2011 09:15

Duncan. I don't even think it being 1979 is an excuse.

I was almost a Frances (aftrer Uncle Frank not an Auntie Fran) so not really sure where Duncan came from.

Thank heaven for X chromasomes!

LordOfTheFlies · 24/05/2011 09:23

Kelvin- not Kevin, bad enough but I was a 1966 baby- but Kelvin.
Would have been a made-up name back then!

purplefeet · 24/05/2011 09:30

Robin if I'd been a boy.

My actual name is vile and would have preferred to be a girl Robin or Robyn.

carlyx · 24/05/2011 22:32

me; matthew :(
sister; ryan :(
yongest sister; cutis or conner :( :(

JoInScotland · 25/05/2011 02:08

My Mum's children alternated between boy/girl/boy/girl with such regularity that no boy name was picked out for me at all apparently.

oohlaalaa · 25/05/2011 10:28

Not a clue, but my younger brother is Ian, so possibly this.

I have a four syllable surname, so we all have short sweet names.

CandyS · 25/05/2011 12:31

Paris Blue. Sounds like something you pick off the Dulux paint chart!

MrsCarriePooter · 25/05/2011 12:36

Michael (ok) Robert (my father's name and used for DS) Duncan (ugh).
