Looking for a 'celebrity' baby name

OK, now if I'm honest, I would say that I genuinely like the unusual names that celebrities give their children. My faves are probably names like Bluebell, Blossom, Peaches, Honey, Tallulah Bell and Betty (for girls) and Romeo, Kingston, Cruz and Ever (for boys). Although I am not a celebrity, I would like a real 'celebrity' name for my next child. I wonder if I am alone in this, or if anybody else feels the same? I doubt that I would have the guts to do this, I will probably end up with something boring from the Top 100, but it's fun to imagine.

So tell me, what names would you go for if you had artistic licence to choose whatever name you liked?

By the way, please feel free to take the piss and post ridiculous names - I will probably like them Grin

Tsil, I just don't want a pedestrian name for my child. I want something special that not many people have. I used the term 'celebrity name' because everybody knows what that means. I don't want to copy anybody else, I just want to be inspired by them, I guess.

It was meant to be a light-hearted thread; there is always one who turns things nasty [hmmm]

Id say your the one who has turned nasty - fuck off is hardly a friendly comment!

enjoy being inspired by celebrity baby names, actually, how about celebrity itself? could be an inspirational name in its own right

LynetteScavo · 27/03/2011 15:30

celeb baby names

I think the list is a bit ancient, though.

BornAgainDomesticGoddess · 27/03/2011 15:42

Thanks LynetteScavo. I like Savannah and Valencia from that list. As I said earlier, I think I may have chosen one from the earlier suggestions, but it's still nice to ponder Smile

I guess where we live people don't really get laughed at for their names.

Oddly enough, I know someone with every one of the names in your list Smile

Children can be very very cruel, and having an unusual name often gives them an easy way to make fun/tease someone. Happens everywhere in every country, regardless whether it's a big town or a small village.

I think you are wrong in suggesting that name-teasing is international JBrd. I've never experienced that and my name is extremely unusual.

Assisi is nice. Isn't that the name of one of Jade Jagger's children?

Fresh2death · 28/03/2011 09:16

why dont you just buy OK magazine the week your child is born and copy a name from the most recent celebrity baby? surely that will make you happy!

seeker · 28/03/2011 09:18

I have a friend who's got a Nia and an Autumn.

I have to remind my brain that they are not Mia and Summer every single time I meet them!

just trying to be helpful, thought it would save you a lot of time and effort?

BornAgainDomesticGoddess · 28/03/2011 09:23

Fresh2death, you are not trying to be helpful, you are a trouble maker. Now please leave.

Fresh2death · 28/03/2011 09:25

Thats harsh, simply going by the title of this thread i have come up with a suggestion that solves your dilemma, keeping the choice of name both celebrity themed, up to date and in the public eye - surely you should be thanking me and taking the positive suggestion on board.

BornAgainDomesticGoddess · 28/03/2011 09:29

Oh, just go away. You are annoying me now. Pity, as this was quite an entertaining thread until you came along.
