Is the name Skyla really that bad??

I really like the name Skyla and the spelling, as i realise you can also spell it other ways, but not many people i have asked have liked then name and it's really made me confused as to whether i should just go ahead with what i like or choose a totally different name, which im finding very hard to choose as i really don't like most girl's names.
I called my other daughter Summer, which at the time 7 years ago was very unusual, but recently her name has become quite popular.
Im wondering if that might end up being the case with Skyla??

There are two sisters in DD's school called Skylar and Isla .

I can only assume the parents are seriously unimaginative.

Skylar says 'breaking Bad' to me

Its definitely not a timeless classic...but I quite like it.

Ah! I knew a girl called 'shoo-lar' but had never seen it written down. She must have been a Schuyler.

My 2 year old daughters name is Skyla. I too had it picked out long before she was concieved and long before 'breaking bad' .... my name and her Daddy's name both start with 'S' her 16yr old brothers name is Kye and her 18yr old brothers name is Dylan. We melded our names to create hers (S from mum and dad, ky from one brother and la from the other) I still love her name and couldn't imagine naming her anything else!!

I do not like this name at all!! To my mind it is really bad!! Skyler sounds better to me but only beacause of the "Breaking Bad";-))) In whole all the varients of this name is not good to me. Summer was a great choice! So sweet and sunny and beautiful name;-)

Ignore the negative comments (some are a bit harsh imho) I wuldnt personally use it but I love the name Summer and think it does go well together. Its horrible when you have your heart set on a name and everyone else take the mick, so go with what you want sod everyone else.

There is a little Skyla who my twins used to go to playgroup with such a pretty little thing so everytime I hear that name thats who I think of as never heard of anyone else been called it
