Another pat on my own back for none of my dcs making the lists! yeah!

IHeartKingThistle · 27/10/2010 11:54

candyfloss some of the tabs on the bottom were covered by my taskbar - I had to drag it away to the right and presto! more tabs appeared

HTH

IHeartKingThistle · 27/10/2010 11:55

sorry, not taskbar, scrollbar - there's a teeny little light grey bit to the left of it you can click and drag if that makes any sense!

LexiWITCHious · 27/10/2010 11:59

Are we allowed to judge on this thread?

Three poor mites from last year are toddling around with the name J-Jay. And another three are Jay-D.

What is it with all the Jays?!

Mine's at #11. I am very middle-class and dull.

kveta · 27/10/2010 12:02

drat, it appears that in choosing a name we both loved, that works in both languages (mine and DH's), we have inadvertantly named DS the number 1 name from last year. :( I clearly have incredibly common tastes.

KenDoddsDadsZombieDogsNotDead · 27/10/2010 12:03

My DDs name is now in the top 200 instead of 300. Hoping it doesn't continue to rise!

popsycal · 27/10/2010 12:05

where does it show you thatthere are three philberts....

smokinpumpkins · 27/10/2010 12:08

DC1 is number 11, DC2 is number 98. Happy with that.

Was very suprised that my nephews name is 20 points ahead of my DC2's though, with 200 more named it in 2009 - everyone I know has heard of or knows of one with the same name as my DS, but my nephew's name I hadnt heard of for ages!

gree · 27/10/2010 12:12

227 have dd2s name if you take in to account the full name and the usual nn, was suprised the nn was higher on the list.

NewbeeMummy · 27/10/2010 12:28

All the names are listed on the last tab of each sex

jellybeans · 27/10/2010 12:36

I wish they did a table with the same spellings counted as one name. For example, Mohammed, Zack, Isabelle and many more are all much higher in the list if you add up all the many spellings.

Only one of my DC is in the top 100 this year. Most of them only made the top 50 if that anyway.

It's amazing how quickly some names come in and out. Also interesting that many shortened forms are more popular than the long forms. Alfie/Freddie etc.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 27/10/2010 12:39

Very sad that DD's name continues to be in the top five. when she was born it was very unusual. Ho hum, tis to be expected.

runningrach · 27/10/2010 12:56

jellybeans it would be virtually impossible to combine spellings with any reliability or consistency - some of the 'variants' are unbelievable! And people would disagree on what is the same name and what isn't, some people pronounce minor spelling differences - or even the same spelling! - completely differently. I do my own personal add ups (only for girls tho) and happy to post my 'findings' on here, but I'm sure some people would disagree with some of the names I combine...

TBH I just can't figure out why it takes so long for the lists to be published, almost a year out of date by the time they are released. Scotland manages it before the year is even up (I don't know whether anyone born at the end of December gets shunted to the next year or just doesn't count!).

5DollarShake · 27/10/2010 13:19

I Can't bring up the spreadsheet up on my ipad - any chance anyone could copy and paste the full 100 lists?

[hsmile]

FindingMymOOOOOOOOjo · 27/10/2010 13:24

YAY DD's name not on list! Fingers crossed it never will me, though we did have a scare earlier this year when it was raised as a possible for baby Cameron Shock.

5DollarShake · 27/10/2010 13:24

Ignore me - I've accessed it. [dunce]

DS's totally normal name doesn't make the top 100. Must be deeply unfashionable!

DuelingFanjo · 27/10/2010 13:26

I have a friend with a Jack, Harry and an Olivia! All over 5 though.

poppyknot · 27/10/2010 13:34

My name and DD2's (Sunday) name have both dropped the same number of places. Grin

DD1's is nowhere to be seen........

Cortina · 27/10/2010 15:39

Missing something as can only access top 100s for 2009?

Can anyone give me idiot proof help to access them all? Thank.

rubbersoul · 27/10/2010 15:46

Argh, my bloody computer isn't opening it! Don't know why!

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 27/10/2010 15:47

I can't open them at all. Just get an error message.

Can somebody c&p?

CatBumMouth · 27/10/2010 16:35

If you open the comparison tool you can see the top 100s without having to open the spreadsheet iyswim

Lilka · 27/10/2010 16:35

I'm still in the top 100 - I knew it would be though. I have one of those timeless names that stay quite popular and have been around God know how long.

Older sis nowhere to be seen
Younger sisters both in top 100 as well
Younger brother in the top 200
Mum just entered top 100 (sara)
Dad also in top 100

We aren't a very adventurous family with names are we?! Apart from older sis. Her name is a warping of an old name that is currently ranked down in the 1700's. I think it's very nice though

LynetteScavo · 27/10/2010 16:44

DC's names are still rising.

So much for me thinking I was going for something "taditional but unusual". Oh well.

Sunlightdances · 27/10/2010 17:09

My name is swirling around in the top thousand. I am amused by the six girls born in England who were called Monalisa, but maybe that's just me... Wink
