No interest in my handmade crayon tote bags on Marketplace

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping for a bit of advice from fellow parents. 😊
I've recently started making handmade Disney-themed children's crayon tote bags and have listed them on Facebook Marketplace, but unfortunately I haven't had any enquiries yet.
I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from a parent's point of view. Is there anything that would make you more likely to buy one? Is it the photos, the description, the price, or is it just not something you'd look for on Marketplace?
I genuinely believe the quality and price are good, but I'd love to know what I could improve. I've shared them on a few Strood Facebook groups too, but still haven't had any messages or comments. Similar products seem to sell well in shops like Argos, so I'm wondering what I'm missing.
Any constructive advice would be hugely appreciated.

There is a guy on tiktok who could pinpoint your exact location coordinates within a matter of minutes. Depending on how big a digital footprint you have online he could probably also find out your child's name and school/nursery. There will be plenty of others like him too. Please safeguard your child and remove the photo.

I wouldn't say those are irrational.
It has been widely reported in the news about AI being used to make indecent images of children.

Either way, I think we can all agree that a child is easily identifiable on this thread and that's not okay.

This is a pattern, not a bag.

This is before the AI weirdos get hold of it and make it into some kind of sick and peverse image.

The pens look like they are about to fall out and the parents would end up carrying that. I wouldn’t have bought it

Also, I'm thinking you are breaking copyright by selling Disney branded items. You need a license.

This site had child sexual abuse material posted on it, multiple times. It has 9 million users, our email addresses and passwords were published by a hacker. Posting a child's image to be available forever online doesn't seem like a good idea.

I found them on marketplace, listed for £20. Personally I think that's really expensive for what it is

Copy right of Disney, Did you get their permission? Plus I don’t bother with Disney for my grandchild.

Fun concept but it doesn't have the usual practical features of a children's bag, or a pencil case and I'm not clear on when a child would use it. The fabric is pretty (no idea about copyrights though for selling them) but you could adapt the design to better meet children's and parents needs. Ask yourself what makes it the best child's bag or pencil case. Or both. And go from there.

How much are you selling them for?

You say there are similar ones sold in shops - so what is the difference? Why would I not just buy one from them?

I definitely think they could sell and so I can only imagine it’s your pricing or advertising that’s the issue.

Your daughter is adorable but I wouldn’t buy one without a better photo and description - perhaps this is where you’re going wrong.

Realistically, I can't see a use for a product like this and I wouldn't spend money on it. I have about 25 cotton tote bags already which I have been given for free by various companies over the years, so I wouldn't pay for another. In addition, I think it actively makes the product worse that the pens are in little pockets on the outside of yours. Instead of chucking the pens into the bag I'd have to slot them all in individually, and every time the bag was chucked into the boot or on to a chair, they would risk all falling out. I think it would annoy me within minutes of use.

All that said - they are very nicely made, so you have ample talent for creating things. This isn't the right product but keep experimenting because you have the required skills to create something useful and attractive which people will want to buy.

How much are you selling them for?

I would not pay £20 for it.

£20 is a lot for something that can’t play with.

This. You can buy Disney fabric as an 'end user' but be careful selling it on. I think you would be exposing yourself to litigation.

I wouldn’t buy a shoulder or tote bag for a child, rucksack only.

That’s going to be uncomfortable to carry for any period of time - child’s hands will knock against the pens.

Doesnt look like a professional finish - looks like a homemade craft item. Esp where straps are pulling. Not keen on colour combo.

As for the product, I’m going to be very blunt and it’s going to sound rude, but that’s not intentional. The pen holders aren’t deep enough and there aren’t enough of them. Packs of colouring pens come in bigger packs and a pencil case negates the point of your bag. The handles look a different shade of pink to the pen holders and that makes it look like you’ve knocked it up from what you’ve got laying around the house, rather than an intentional decision. Also the handles are too wide and don’t look like they’ve been sewn on very well. And is Frozen still as popular as it was? I think most kids have moved on now.

If you want to make money with fabric, you’re going to have to either come up with something really special, or make it to a really high standard. I’d choose a different product if I were you.

ETA Have I understood correctly that you’re charging £20 per bag?!

it looks like pencils etc would fall out; not sure why they’d be stored on the outside. I think the proportions look wrong (width of straps) and it doesn’t look especially professional.

Is this rage bait? Looks dangerous to me. One wrong step and you are in an and e with 3 pencils stuck in your child. I can't even begin to imagine how that goes with social services.
