Here we go!

I am trying to crochet my fairy but struggling with the arms at the moment. Meri, I have finished my meme, and tagged a few more people, including dizzyday and lucykate

JG, I am of you doing the functional felt swap - I just don't have the time but would love to have joined in!

I wrote my piece for my blog this morning then WordPress lost it - grr - so I rewrote it, then WP found the original - double grr . Anyhoo here it is. Answers on a postcard (actually, answers on the comments bit ) please ...

ha ha ha ha Miaou - I don't have time either!!!

have made my guess on your blog

Miaou · 28/04/2008 12:59

LOL - did you read a book called "Craftivity" by any chance???

OP posts:
jeangenie · 28/04/2008 13:30

oops sorry, have I ruined the suspense? I wasn't sure I was right and NO I didn't read that book - can't remember where I saw the thing I referred to - online somewhere I'd imagine (given that I spend my life glued to this machine)

Miaou · 28/04/2008 14:24

s'ok jeangenie, I can never tell how obvious/difficult things are! Coming along nicely I must say, seven carriers in, but very hard on the wrists because the plastic doesn't slide over the hook easily. I keep alternating with other projects!

DD has tonsilitus (and I've got 3 hrs sleep last night) so I'm drowning in curtains and duvet covers never mind having the time or inclination to craft!!

Whizzz · 28/04/2008 16:44

Well in case anyone wondered what I have been up to I've made a few 'repeats' of items for my craft fair. I've made a couple of multi strand necklaces but now I have run out of beading wire Grrrr

Well I did my tag from GW here but, er I don't know who to tag, hands up who's not been tagged yet then.

jeangenie · 28/04/2008 22:18

ranting - did you see my message about iknit on weds?

chrissnow · 29/04/2008 07:47

ranting - I haven't. BUT please bear in mind, I've only done two posts on my blog and no-one ever reads it so it may be wasted energy there!! I so need to get crafting so I can sort it out and make it a little more interesting. Might actually get chance to do it later. Have to make 3 anniversarry cards later. Will see if the demon children allow it!!

Tillyboo · 29/04/2008 08:33

Chrissnow - remind me what's your blog name ?

chrissnow · 29/04/2008 08:45

here.
It really is tres bare!!!

chrissnow · 29/04/2008 09:35

thanks tilly!! I don't know whether I feel better or worse for knowing how many of you are just 'natural' talents!! I think I'll go for the glass half full approach and keep on practising .
I really really really need to do some crafting today. Luckily the weather is pants so I can get the drawing stuff out for me and the kids. Have got to cut their hair first though. I have scarecrow children at the moment!!! Haircutting is artistic though so it could be deemed as crafty..?

ranting · 29/04/2008 09:37

Have tagged you Chrissnow, actually my first thought was you but wasn't sure you had a blog.
JG, nooo, I missed that, will go have a look, have I missed another meetup. Florence was talking about one on Ravelry but, said she couldn't make it.

chrissnow · 29/04/2008 10:19

done. I have to do things instantly else they don't get done!! Who knows anyone to tag (shall I get Cod? She has a blog?!?!? I can just imagine the response). Think would be safer to just find someone random.
Must go cut hair now.
It's nice to be someone's first thought . mmm not so much of a blog yet really. I am a newbie on that front. It'll get there (eventually - like so much of my bombsite life!!! )

ranting · 29/04/2008 10:32

I loved that Chrissnow, it was very witty.
Believe me though I am not a crafting genius but, I am a trier. And I enjoy it and sometimes I even manage to make something that I like enough to use.
I really should be lining my bloody bag!!

I'm very good at ideas!!! Very bad at time management. Haircuts done. DH is going to kill me. DD1 now has a little bob. He loved her long hair , but it was so thin and straggly. Hopefully now it will grow a bit straighter. DD2 still has a bird's nest, but it's a shorter less knotty bird's nest!!! (she has mad mad curls) and she's only 20 (something) months and not really into sitting still while mommy cuts her hair . I bribed 'em both with a bowl of organix crisp things to keep 'em there for 5 minutes bad mommy!!!

chrissnow · 29/04/2008 14:02

someone in need of the help of one of the talented here Not me obviously!!

dizzyday07 · 29/04/2008 14:35

As I stupidly signed myself up for the Functional Felt Swap, I've just bought a jumper to felt (god knows what I'm going to turn it into!!).

But as my first attempt ended so miserably wish me loads of luck as I head off towardfs the washing machine!!

meridian · 29/04/2008 19:19

hello Ladies! I'm back... arrived home a few hours ago.. totally shattered and ready to drop but had a lovely time... will blog all about it in a few days time... pretty sure I will never be able to catch up with all these posts though...

ranting · 29/04/2008 19:20

Welcome back Meri. Did you have a good time?

meridian · 29/04/2008 19:27

ranting- had a great time, especially in california,, visiting all my favourite places that I haden't been to in 6 or 7 years... I was practically in tears a few times just going to places that I forgot how much I loved... like sitting on my favourite beach near bodega bay listenign to the waves and playing in the sand with DS... DH took loads of pictures so will hopefully upload some soon and blog about our adventures.. and two 2 weeks of snowy weather we had in Idaho.

ranting · 29/04/2008 19:31

Look forward to reading that, Meri.
