gm, i'd be up for ikea again, we have some stuff to take back from when we went last time on the way home from visiting you.

lovely quilts by the way, one thing i've yet to try is quilting.

Is anyone having trouble accessing their blogs on blogspot ?

It's driving me mad. I've done a new post but I can't check to see that it's OK. keeps telling me it's timed out.

I've listed my weeks achievments.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this for Diors mum so I hope she likes it.

The weather is forecast to be completely rubbish tomorrow so I'm hoping to hibernate away tomorrow afternoon and start another project.

DD has her mock pre-juvenile ballet test tomorrow so nothing will get done before that happens

So jealous of those of you going to Ikea. I find it rather annoying how I can shop online with them now but you cant order any thing thats light so no fabric
Our nearest one is Leeds but sadly dh is allergic to Ikea so we hardly ever go.

I tried to make the doll a dress last night and it went a little bit wrong
I just cant seem to do it.

We had a scare this week as one of my best friends little girls was admitted to hospital with bacterial meningitis on Tuesday and we were with them on Sunday - very scary.
She came out in a rash on Sunday night and has been in hospital all week being pumped full of AB's. She's 9 so she understands what has been going on and has been a real trooper with all the injections etc. Bless her, kids are so resilient.
She's home now but has to return to hospital every day for large doses of AB's.

Tilly that is scary!

I'm having a real dilema with this doll.
Doll is great but she is bloomin naked and I have 2 dresses both of which look utterley horrendous. My dd could do a better job.

So I'm stuck now. I dont know what to do!

Evening all, sorry to hear about your friend Dior and TB hope your friends dd is getting better.
Been doing lots, but no blogging, (must do that, have been tagged you know), made up a couple of bags to house my crochet and knitting stuff, one is completely finished the other just needs the lining to be sewn in, so I'll do that in the morning.

Nbg - How about a bikini or swimming cosi - too difficult ? Two circles and a mini skirt might be easier than a dress?

Dior - Oh I'm so sorry about your friend.
Friends and family being poorly really puts 'what's important' into perspective doesn't it.

Night, night all.

Argh, haven't managed to get on here all day! I finished the cardi for dd2 (yipee!) but haven't blogged it yet as it needs snap fasteners adding and I need dd2 to model it to get the best effect! I have also started an "experiment" ... will blog a pic at some point but I think it will be a long WIP ... v. mysterious!

I have also, at last, cut into my fabric for my outfit for my db's wedding. Ooooh that was a scary moment. It took me 1.5 hours to cut five panels for the skirt! I still have another five to cut! However that includes ironing time, a panicky call to my mum for advice, and feeding ds2, so I think I have the potential to be a bit quicker in future

I am just about ready now to start making my doll for the doll swap, but not quite - I'm a bit worried about how all the colours are going to look. I might end up making two versions of the clothes to see which looks best, I think.

Other than that - we went to a car boot sale at the weekend, and I got a fab thing for ds1, it's the old version of this and he just loves it! He has been asking me about letters for a few weeks now, so it's just perfect timing for him.

Really wanted to blog my mystery WIP tonight but dh has been tidying up and he has hidden the camera ...

nbg, a pretty easy way to make some clothes for a doll is, do you have any netting?, you could make a tutu and she can be a ballerina.

miaou, car boot sales are great aren't they, we've got a big one locally in a couple of weeks time, we did really well at the last one, got dd a load of polly pocket and ds a wooden elc garage for £3!

i got a couple more jumpers from the charity shops yesterday which have felted up nicely. have also managed to start sewing the decoration on the bag i'm making for my mil. am really struggling with hayfever atm, i went through nearly a whole box of tissues yesterday! am off for a bath now

Miaou - I've got the one in the picture, I tried to sell it at our local NCT sale but no takers. And would you believe it, dd started playing with it again tonight after not being bothered about it for months ...

sorry to hear about the various friends and rellies being ill - hope things get better soon.

I've been entertaining in laws all weekend but managed to do a bit of patchwork - made two little samplers thingies which I will blog sometime soon - one is for the vintage swap so I'll keep that under wraps for now

other than that this week is tea cosy week as I have two to make before friday. Then I'll be mini quilting at the weekend (just waiting for some fusible webby stuff to come to help with my applique). I'm doing a rainbow inspired one for the swap and an owl and pussycat one as a special commission After that I'll be hitting the doll swap challenge. I have some ideas which I am enjoying playing with.

I have to make something functional from felt for another swap too - was thinking of a (boring) needle book and pincushion combo - is that really TOO boring though? any other ideas?

LK I do have netting. Alot of it actually and all in a very bright pink.
Need to think about that.

Tilly I like the bikini idea too. In fact I was reading Futuregirls blog yesterday and she has done a tutorial for a dolls mermaid outfit. I could have another look at that.
