@InTheNightWeWillWish that blanket looks soooo cosy! I also have a fluffy ball of yarn my mum gave me but I have no idea what to make with it that's easy enough in regards to the yarn!

@lucysmam wow that wrap cardi is stunning! Lovely colour and literally looks shop bought! Well done!

It's my birthday today and my lovely mum got me a couple of the Edwards Menagerie books (the birds and animal ones) and they're so cute but I think I remember someone saying they didn't really like them on one of these threads? I think because they're all basically the same body/head for every animal/bird! But if there's another reason please give me a heads up haha! My niece has already asked for a flamingo and my DS wants an orangutan Grin so that might get my crojo back!

lucysmam · 29/07/2021 19:58

@sophs29 happy birthday to you 🥳 I hope you've had a lovely day? A flamingo sounds fun to make!

@BookShark I was wondering last night, when I couldn't get to sleep how Sophie was coming along?

You still ticking along @CrochetBug?

sophs29 · 29/07/2021 20:14

Thank you so much @lucysmam I've had a lovely day! Yes the flamingo does look cute and I already have all the colours to make it! Smile

CrochetBug · 29/07/2021 20:17

@sophs29 happy birthday. Hope you've had a lovely day.

@lucysmam that wrap is gorgeous@!!!

I'm still ticking along. Had a very disappointing date on Tuesday and spent the day shopping yesterday as we are going camping on Saturday. I've slept most of today as a result as I'm so worn out. Not sure how I'm going to manage a week away!

InTheNightWeWillWish · 29/07/2021 21:28

sophs happy birthday! Hope you’re having a lovely day! Lovely present from your mum - even if it does mean you’re inundated with requests now Grin Based on this yarn, I would definitely go with something that doesn’t require being exact in your number of stitches or something relatively simple. Even slip stitching into the top of the granny blocks in my blanket is being done on feel rather than sight.

petridishmystery · 29/07/2021 21:39

Happy birthday sophs!

eitak22 · 29/07/2021 22:02

Happy Birthday Sophs! Goad you had a lovely day.

Can I join the hate sewing brigade? Just attached my infinity scarf and it looks rubbish, am going to leave it till tomorrow as the wool makes it hard to see the stitches.

Belated happy birthday Sophs - hope you had a great day! Last day of my holiday today. Probably not going to the beach, as we are enjoying the delights of Storm Evert and its 50mph winds Shock. Not looking forward to the journey back, as it took us 9 hours on the way down!

Sorry to hear about your disappointing date, CrochetBug! Hope you have fun camping. We're camping too, in Pembrokeshire in a couple of weeks. I usually get plenty of knitting done while camping. Smile

Happy Birthday sophs! Cake

Oh, it's tricky lucysmam but what about asking for £5 for the bee? It's hard to know, you don't want to give it away with the time you spend on it but on the other hand, people generally balk at paying for what your time is worth...

Those slippers are fantastic Thenameisweasley! Welcome to the thread! 😀

I'm 3/4 way though one sock and DS has requested some for him but I think I'm going to do something that's not in 4ply or laceweight first. I want something that'll fly along without teeny tiny stitches and cables...

InTheNightWeWillWish · 30/07/2021 09:49

Hi thenameisweasley those slippers are so cute!

sophs29 · 30/07/2021 09:59

Thank you @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack ☺️

Wow @Thenameisweasley slippers are great!! I'm not going to show my niece, she'll want some of those too 🙄😂

Thenameisweasley · 30/07/2021 10:22

@InTheNightWeWillWish @sophs29 @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack @lazylinguist

Thanks for the lovely comments - the book is by Ira Rott. Highly recommended. First time using scheepjes stonewashed and will be buying more - it's so soft!

lucysmam · 30/07/2021 10:33

Grin @sophs29 if I showed dd2 she'd like a pair of @Thenameisweasley's slippers too! They are very cute.

I thought somewhere around £4/£5 seems reasonable Flavia. I'll let her know & see whether she still wants some. I don't mind either way, I'll fill my time with other stuff if not.

annonymousse · 30/07/2021 10:38

I've not been in the mood for crochet for ages. Ur recently got my crojo back and made this. I'm ridiculously proud of it 🤣

I'm contemplating another blanket project. Need something I can keep picking up and putting down without having to follow a pattern.

NiceCardigan · 30/07/2021 10:40

I haven't done any knitting or crochet for a while - I'm hoping to get some crochet done later today ( if I get off mumsnet and finish the work I have planned for this morning!)

sophs29 · 30/07/2021 10:54

Ooh thank you @Thenameisweasley what are the sizes/ages like in the book? And @lucysmam isn't that the same author of your animal rugs book?

lucysmam · 30/07/2021 10:57

@sophs29 it is! I didn't notice that.

Thenameisweasley · 30/07/2021 11:14

@sophs29 I've attached the inside cover of the book - all the instructions cover all the sizes shown. My tension is quite tight so I found mine came up smaller but I could have gone up hook sizes no problem!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 30/07/2021 12:16

Your pic didn't show up @annonymousse! Now that's building up suspense Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 30/07/2021 12:38

Oh bugger! Thenameisweasley you probably shouldn’t have included that there are adult sizes! I’ve only just talked myself out of buying more wool and closing the wool warehouse browser as I have enough projects to be getting on with and I need to work through those!

annonymousse · 30/07/2021 12:58

Second attempt 🤣
